An hour to get IN the room. They had eyes on the doors within 10-15 minutes

5.56

Didnt he have AK's and.308/7.62 rounds too, Ak's dont shoot 5.56 they shoot 7.62 rounds which is pretty much a .308 which carries way more of a punch and longer range

LINK

yes this is at a close distance but raining down from 32 floors up if the car was in the lower area it is possible

Gotcha.

So he would have had to be very efficient, but I think he could have pulled it off in less than that amount of time.

They had ID'd the room much earlier than that. You don't think that SWAT had a perimeter set up around the entire hotel that would allow NO ONE to leave without being vetted, within minutes?

He could have fired a couple of rounds and been downstairs in less than probably 5 minutes, which IMO no one at ground level likely would have had a clue he was the shooter if he walked right by them.

I've already stated this.

It was pure chaos, I don't see how you can think that.

You don't think an LEO perimeter was set up immediately? If not, I'll just say I don't think you know how they work.

Ok wait, maybe we do agree after all

F it, I'm not editing.

If that was the plan, why bring 14 guns into the room?

Possible, but nobody will ever know because yes it would have been hard to escape but definitely possible and shooting the vehicle from his hotel all depends on the location of his vehicle compared to his nest!
I still havent seen a visual of where the car was parked. I've heard the 2nd broken window away from the concert was so he could shoot at the fuel tanks and his car. Any idea where the car was parked exactly?

I do but I question them getting an ID on this guy within just a few minutes.

But yea, I think we mostly agree.

I agree with this, i think the main reason for multiple guns was so when one jammed instead of having to possibly break the gun down to clear it you just throw it to the side and grab another one. But still why bring all those guns and think of them jamming if you just plan on shooting for a couple minutes

if he had planned an escape, i mean, all he would have needed would be 2-4 rifles in the room with thousand or so rounds.... and you move quickly to plan b. this dude was stocked in the room... I dunno... sounds like a big ole dummy to me.

Bump firing for any amount of time seems to be a good way to get a rifle to jam. He was probably planning for that, but yeah, 23 guns (12 with bump stocks) is a little excessive.

Drove by this yesterday. Hit me in the feels.

Illinois man drives to Vegas to install 58 crosses
.
Also the victims go fund me is almost at $10 million and I don't think that includes all the donations from the casinos.

The sheriff did say that some of the guns were jammed, but said he didn't know the exact number.

I don't remember the number. My point was, why bring more than a couple guns if your plan is to bounce after a few minutes and move to phase 2.

He would have to be leaving as the security guard came up. Killed him, and then headed down the stairs or elevator.

According to the sherriff though, SWAT was on the 31st floor and only about 60 seconds behind the Security Guard, so I imagine if they'd run into him, he would have been held until cleared (which he obviously never would have been).

No, right in front of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, but probably about a half mile from front of Mandalay Bay.
