According to the Australian authorities, she was born there and "originally from" there. I haven't been able to find how long she lived there, but she has family there. They said she hasn't lived in Australia in over 20 years.

Pretty much this. Some of it is also probably people who don't know how to rationalize how this could have been done by a "normal person" who didn't have terrorist connections. I can understand that difficulty. Very hard to wrap my mind around.

Yes, and she goes there regularly. Went there with the killer in thw last few months.
She was also in Dubai some around rich poker players from all over the middle east and world.

Has anyone brought up the receipt that was supposedly posted by a Mandalay Bay employee showing that Paddock ordered room service for "2 guests", a day before it was said that he checked in? Is that legit?

I think it's very plausible for it to be connected to a terror group. But the theory of it being ISIS in the Philippines via his GF is nonsensical

The M16 internals are probably the only thing hard to get that require a license. If you're prepared to commit a felony the receiver mods and the lightning link are childs play for any competent fabricator.
Additionally, if you have enough money, legal full auto guns can be purchased that are pre-NFA. Now, one pre-NFA full auto M16 can fetch over $10k these days but they do exist.
Honestly, this guy could have wreaked just as much havoc with timed, well placed shots with proper optics and ranging in semi auto mode with any decent AR10 (308 caliber). It wouldn't have been as dramatic but the crowd wouldn't have dispersed as quickly if he would have shot one shot every 3 seconds or so. Also, not shooting as much would have delayed the smoke detectors which is what gave away his position.
I guess my point is that regardless of illegal guns, or legal guns, some nutcase can find a way especially if he is determined and patient.
All my AR's have M16 bolt carriers. They are sold on every gun site.

It may be legit, but I don't think it necessarily means anything. The amount of food ordered wasn't over the top, and having 3 drinks could have been him stocking up so he didn't have to leave the room to get a drink. The number of guests is likely linked to the reservation system, which probably defaults to 2 guests per room.

May have just been setting up and didn't want to be disturbed so he ordered 2 meals. One for then and one for later.

He booked two adjoining rooms. Gotta make things look legit. Also, he needed that cart. He would not have received a cart for one meal.
