I actually heard someone on the CBS Evening News last night mention obesity rates in relation to this.

i am honestly glad that someone has said this. Now, it needs to be restated as often as the total cases, and the total deaths.

That is only southeastada.org's opinion on what is reasonable. That is not case law, or any specific part of the ADA.

You have a better source for an opinion or some relative case law?

That was written by an extremely reputable source who "reaches around the globe in its efforts to advance the civic, economic, and social participation of people with disabilities." If anyone would be on your side of the argument, it would be them. You're just grasping at straws that maybe some lawyer could challenge it and win in court.

Look, I don't like wearing a mask. No one does. It's hot and it's uncomfortable. But if it gets us out of this shite then I'm all for it.

Kind of like closing schools or
shutting down bars or
shutting down "non-essential" businesses or
"sheltering in place" or
eliminating doctor office visits or
closing down gyms or
rationing food

You see where this is going? Me neither, and it needs to stop.

When LA was at its worst with this....AZ wasn’t really that bad. I think my governor opened up things too soon...before AZ ever even reached its peak

It’s the opposite...closed down too early before the virus really spread. Didn’t need to shutdown yet but too much fear mongering watching the news from places like New York. Virus isn’t going to peak when everyone is locked inside their houses.

If people wore proper PPE correctly, then

Would really not need to happen

Those items above have to happen because people are too stupid or too stubborn to follow one basic request

The above happened before Trump said he wouldn't wear one and the CDC backtracked on their mask requirements.

From the CDC website on March 18

quote:

Wear a facemask if you are sick
If you are sick: You should wear a facemask when you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office. If you are not able to wear a facemask (for example, because it causes trouble breathing), then you should do your best to cover your coughs and sneezes, and people who are caring for you should wear a facemask if they enter your room. Learn what to do if you are sick.
If you are NOT sick: You do not need to wear a facemask unless you are caring for someone who is sick (and they are not able to wear a facemask). Facemasks may be in short supply and they should be saved for caregivers.

What if I told you it won't?

The overwhelming medical literature disagrees. When used together, mask usage, mass testing, social distancing, and contact tracing can dramatically slow and even snuff out large pockets of this virus.

I get the aversion to mandated masks. I really do. Truth be told I'm not happy about it either, but here we are. Anytime the government mandates something, it's an uneasy feeling.

The Chinese failed to nip this thing in the bud when they had a chance and fricked the rest of us. Once it got to the US, leaders on both sides jumped at the crisis/opportunity to gain better footholds. So much conflicting information was flying from the get-go and it somehow turned into an us vs them thing, which is ludicrous.

Since then more research has come out. Yes, it's not as bad as we originally thought. Yes, more people have had it than we knew about. Yes, it turns out masks actually do slow the spread of it. Yes, the Falcons still blew a 28-3 lead.

People on both sides are guilty of failing to rationally look at this thing. Let's just all do our part, get through this shite, and go back to hoping a meteor takes out DC.

You acquire more data points and recommendations can change. I am pretty sure that is old information.

This should be a good well rounded discussion. How did he politicize it?

Simply put a mask underneath your chin and tell them politely I'm wearing a mask. You can't refuse me for wearing one. It says nothing about wearing one properly

You are conflicting yourself. What is it? Are people supposed to follow orders or not?

Because right off the bat they were, yet it is their fault because they listened to recommendations and didn't wear masks that businesses closed.

If the size of the virus is 10 microns and the mask is only built to stop 30 micron or larger objects, what's the point of wearing a mask?

What is the size of a droplet carrying the virus? The virus doesnt leap out of the respiratory tract on its on.....I would bet it is much larger than 30.
