I get what you are saying but the argument is that the mask doesn't keep the virus from getting in as much as they reduce the amount of saliva everyone leaves behind thus reducing transmission.
I didn't wear one in Walmart Saturday and people looked at me like I was evil.

I’m not pro mask, but I don’t think anyone is saying you wear them to protect yourself from the virus. They say you wear them to avoid spraying those around you with metal boogers (in this case).
