The value of the houses appreciated.
But you can't drive a house, baw.

Most people that actually know cars know these are historically great brands and are willing to deal with some quirks to own a piece of that history.
Every car has it's own quirks and personality, but that does't fly when it leaves you stranded on the side of the road.
The Motor Trend crew got stranded in the middle of nowhere and had to call a wrecker when they test drove the well sorted Alfa provided Giulia Quadrifoglio.

Alfa Romeo is a debased Ferrari.

MotorTrend named the Alfa Romeo Giulia the 2018 Car of the Year and gave the Quad very high praise. I do not recall them being stranded by it. Car and Driver had issues with their long term 2017 Alfa Quadrifoglio. The early 2017’s were buggy, 2018+ are as reliable as any other vehicle in its class.

Which Ferrari did this one come from?

Moral of this story? Well, if you're of the eye-rolling "Italian reliability" sensibility, that is understandable, but this is a data set of one. The base Giulia we had in The Big Test never missed a beat. If you're still on the fence, do as our Big Test suggests and lease first. But no matter what, get AAA.

The four-cylinder one.

About time they make a real Maserati again!
Not since the Bora, Khamsin, Indy and original Ghibli of the 70's have we seen a Maserati that gives the brand justice! There was nothing quite like that V-8 rumble from those engines with the quad weber carb set up! I know, because I owned one- special, special cars!

I mean, they also said this:
I know there were issues with the launch cars and they aren’t known for reliability. But I also drive one and can tell you from experience and being on the forums that they are as reliable as the other cars in their class. Most of the early electronic issues stem from bad batteries bc the cars were built in 2016 and many of them not sold until 2018. If the ECU doesn’t read a specific set voltage, it won’t start even though it’ll still have power.

I guess you’re trolling bc there is no 4 cyl Ferrari. Though, FYI, the guys behind the Ferrari 458 Speciale designed the Alfa.

For the house appreciation commenter, this car is worth 12- 14 times more than original sticker (and market is very lively).

The MC12 was built for FIA homologation and only 20 or so were built, as a result it has a different appreciation/depreciation curve than most Maseratis.
The MC20 offers a lot of flash and badge appeal for the price even if the average transaction cost is closer to $300k than 200. That doesn't mean it is going to work well though, but the majority of people who will buy one will never have it on the track, won't be concerned about the amount of time it spends at the dealership nor what the maintenance costs are. Plus all cars are much more reliable than they were 20 years ago. Exotic cars are not really meant for men that work for a living.

In recent years, yes. As an overall brand since inception though, Maserati has great racing pedigree.
It’s much like Alfa. Mention Alfa here and people say it’s an unreliable shitty brand yet Alfa is one of the most respected and beloved brands with great racing heritage.
the problem is that for 10-ish years the supercar market has gotten a lot more reliable, but these brands have not

this still doesn't defend Mas when you can go elsewhere for pedigree and much better reliability (other than Porsche, even)
that argument worked when they were all bad but things have changed a great deal recently
quote:
ETA: this new MC20 also marks a rebirth for Maserati. Between 2013 and 2017 Maserati was bad all around. Uninspiring cars, parts bin interiors and a high price tag. FCA/Stellantis has recently been changing that. Most of the 2019/2020 Maserati lineup gets favorable reviews.
it's a "until i see it, i won't believe it" situation

While historically true we simply don't know that about the MC20. This could be the paradigm shift like from the Ferrari 355 to the 360 or maybe even the arguably bigger shift to the F430 as far as maintenance and reliability goes.

Anyway, we're all waiting on the Alfieri, aren't we?

True, but this part is scary

Maserati developed the MC20's "Nettuno" V6 completely in-house – this isn't some Alfa Romeo engine on steroids. Using fancy Formula 1–inspired tech, like an additional combustion event separate from the main chamber to increase power,

The Maseratti Alfieri is marketed as a 2021 Ferrari Roma
