Tell that to my sons. Both are at the top of their grade in grades, and testing. My middle son is in 7th and was invited to take the ACT this year due to school test scores. My oldest is in college graduating this year. You're a moron.

Edit: and both are also blessed athletically. Way better than I could ever have wanted to be at their age.

No, but I also have no connection with 7-11 cashiers nor would consider them spouse material.

Glad I was able to find both

Y'all making 200k sound like average for someone raising a family. FML

I'm guessing you didn't go to daycare with your 150k in student loans and 85k salary?

You know what's worse for child development? 13 years of Orleans Parish Public schooling because you can't afford private school tuition. That shite seems way worse than a kid going to day care a couple hours a day for 3 years.

That is depressing. Why couldn't the wife make more?

Perhaps she is a stay at home mom?

So how much money does a married guy with kids have to make to live like those single $150-200k ballers to make up for those mooching wife and kids?

Unless you're a piece of shite husband and father, you will never have enough money.

And forget 'ballin'. Nothing says baller like kids in tow.

women working jobs and having a career is a very new thing and it's a big reason kids don't know how to behave and become shitty adults.

Ummm no. Some of the shittiest kids I knew growing up were raised by their stay at home mom. I also know some pretty crappy present day stay at home mom's, and their kids are absolutely not any better off than those who go to daycare.

Being a good parent who PARENTS their children supersedes anything else, despite the work situation.

everything we needed, but the cost of living today is a lot more expensive today.. It has surpassed inflation. Times change so you have to adapt.

Wages have increased relative to the cost of living. The real problem is we have moved from a saving to a spending society. Fed moved and kept rates way too low so people borrow and spend more on things they don't need like the SUV and more clothes. It's just not sustainable. The solution is to reprioritize your needs/wants. This is not always the case but many times people could figure out how to live off one salary if they didn't have to have so much shite.

Like how new? My wife works, my mother worked my grandmother ran her own company in the 60's 70's and 80's, she pretty much worked until she died in the 90's.

I have a client that's 93 years old and she shows up to the office every single day of the week and is probably worth more than anyone on this board and would work circles around any of you.

In a previous thread you said you only made 85k/year. You better get used to changing diapers and supporting your wife's career because you aren't providing for a family with that.

More $$$$ equals more problems. The more you make the more you have to work on tax issues. Sure I stock money away but being a single breadwinner in the family while wife doesn't work fricking sucks and leads to resentment. Wives need to have jobs or they will get dropped for something better as time passes on. That's a reality. 250k isn't nearly enough imho you should be aiming for no less than 500k a year

Why? A family couldn't realistically survive comfortably on 300k? We survive comfortably on half that.

Depends on where you live. In the middle of nowhere then yes 300k is a millionaires life but in the city 500k is the min if you have kids. Private schools are now 25-50k a kid if you live in city centers.
