I am about to be enagaged. I’m only doing this once. If we divorce for some reason later down the road, I’m not trying again.

Yes... BUT. The caveat here is that I have kids and trying to take care of them by myself, even on split custody, would be a problem.


Besides, it’s not like my available universe of choices would be very receptive to FWB or a revolving door of hot and cold running babes.

I’m in the suburbs where the vast majority living here is married or underage. That doesn’t leave many prospects locally unless there is an 18 year old who wants to call me daddy.

Was married for 9 years. I’m 43 now. Divorce (not my choice. Would have much rather tried counseling first) was final in August. We have a 6 year old girl and 8 year old boy (high functioning autistic) and joint custody. It’s a huge challenge by myself and the ex makes life as difficult as possible. No infidelity or abuse.

I’m open to a second marriage only because I have a much better understanding of what I want and deserve in a partner and really don’t want to be alone in my old age.

Nope, regardless of when and how it ends, this is my last one. Too old to go through the dating scene again.
