Yes. Married 18 yrs. I pay all house bills and utilities. She handles groceries and stuff for kids
She pays for her car insurance and car note. I pay for mine. I have a savings account she didn’t have access to.
We’ve never fought about money and nothing is a secret.

Yes. My wife has no concept of money management

No. We are married and have combined finances just as intended.

Wife and I keep separate. It works for us. Each of us pays a certain set of bills based on what we make. She then has her money for clothes, shoes, etc and I have my money to spend on whatever without being questioned on what and where we spend our money. We talk about any big purchases we have to make together and split that.
In my opinion it eliminates meaningless bullshite arguments of... You went out and spent how much on whatever.
We don't have that problem
this is the way. she would be furious if she knew how much i spend on skis and i would likely be horrified at what she drops on getting her hair did

My guess is both his wealth, and shadiness, are overstated with the stories 3rd hand and two sisters ahead of you in the chain
Just a guess
Just a guess

Separate checking accounts means she’s not “all in” and is scared of something. Proceed with caution
ETA: Oh shite, yea if he’s the one doing it he’s shady in some way. A man, a real man, wants a joint account
Separate works in some ways but that’s usually after a while together and understanding a person’s habits. Each should contribute the same percentage of their monthly income to the bills.

Yes, me and my current wife do. There's nothing like having a joint account that some pissant divorce attorney can freeze at 4 pm on a Friday. Never again

No. The goal is to trust each other.
My wife trusts me. So she never sees the shite I spend money on.

Separate. Only way to do it

Wife and I joined our checking and savings account at marriage. Never looked back.

No.
What’s hers is hers and what’s mine is hers.
Just kidding.
It’s all OURS.

Yes. Small percentage of each check goes into individual accounts for personal expenditure. Everything else into the joint account and decided jointly how to spend/save/invest/etc.

We have separate accounts and a joint one as well. She pays the mortgage; I pay for everything else.

My wife had her own account until she gradudation from Tech.

That sounds like a Joint Venture and not a sacramental marriage

No, everything combined. She's my wife, not my roommate.
