He would have an issie if they were in his car and he walked outside and shot them. It isn’t a carjacking if you aren’t in the car.

State law only allows for the use of lethal force to protect life, not property.

It's amazing to me how many gun owners don't seem to understand this.

Would have been within his rights to use deadly force in Texas.

He’s no longer in his house or on his property, they were fleeing and not posing a threat. I understand what it’s like to have some break into your house or vehicle and steal shite; it’s fricking infuriating and in the moment I wanted to kill a mother fricker, too, but you have to expect to be charged if you’re shooting someone in the back.

Not only is the death penalty wildly out of line for minor theft, but I sure as hell don’t want him shooting down the block as an innocent bystander (with bedroom near the road)

There are a lot of places you don’t have to fill out a job application, especially for white collar.

Yes, a person gets arrested if he goes out into the street and shoots at someone who is running away from him and is not a threat to him.

Hypothetical here... Say the robbers got away with a stolen gun.

Could that give him a reason to shoot?

Why can’t he just say he fired a warning shot when he saw people in his car...?

Only if he believes the thief is an imminent threat to shoot him with it.

Unless they are literally inside of your home or car with you, you CANNOT shoot at someone if their back is turned.

So if an armed perp, in the act if committing their crime, drops their weapon, turns around to pick it up... I'm not within my rights to merk them? I don't think so.

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Why the frick do people, IRL and on the internet, insist on offering up advice on gun laws when they have absolutely zero fricking clue what they’re talking about
