Didn't he plead to one count of using the word "darky"? That's what I remember hearing, anyway.
Something like that. It's been 32 years. Even thought I was living there at the time, I can't remember the details on that. I know he retired and moved to Idaho pretty soon afterward. A lot of cops from Southern California ended up doing that

All he had to say is that I probably said it when I was a younger man and I regret it now, and then that would have never come in.
Yeah, he messed up. And he was experienced enough to know the unscrupulous tactics of defense lawyers.

They were baiting him to lie so that would have also brought him down. They had a tape of him saying it in his mid-30's as an LAPD officer.

Imagine being so weak by a word that respek crowd uses everyday. This society and that culture are softer than marshmallows…

The jury wanted an excuse to walk OJ and Fuhrman gave it to them on a silver platter
The chain of custody stuff was worse but they could have had video of OJ butchering Nicole and Ron and he was still walking out of there.
It was payback for Rodney King and the others that were not a publicized.

OJ is the guiltiest person in a high profile US murder case of all time and he goes free.
I was in 4th grade but learned a lot of lessons on the day of the verdict.
There was a treasure trove of evidence, no alibi, and a history of domestic abuse. The cops didn't have OJ's blood prior to the murder and found a ton of it at the scene.
OJ's lawyers were very slick but they were scum of the earth human beings. Robert Shapiro and Robert Kardashian both expressed remorse after the acquittal knowing they helped this obvious murderer go free. Kardashian ended a very long friendship with him afterwards.

Most “counselors” are. Bunch of ball washing bastards.

When the cops discovered Nicole’s body they were right in thinking OJ did it because he had a history of domestic abuse. Their first huge mistake occurred when they went to OJ’s house to notify him of the death. I think they were separated at the time, not divorced. OJ was in Chicago but for some reason the cops jumped the gate and entered OJ’s property. Everything they found after that could easily be put in doubt by the defense, such as the blood on the bronco and a bloody sock.

Garcetti wanted the case downtown.
Furhman found the glove.
Fuhrman was prepared to act like a racist in the tapes.
The prosecution was dumb enough to have OJ try on the gloves.
I wasn't shocked by those results one bit.

If you’ve dealt with that segment of the population, and he definitely has before, 99% chance you’ve said that word.
They acting the same way they did back then, it’s just being video recorded now with cell phones and body cams…

NOPE. Wrong, there were plenty of people who celebrated OJ getting off. The same people who thought George Floyd deserved a gold casket. The same people who really thought Floyd couldn't breathe because of a cop.
When I said we all were, I meant people of conscience.
There were millions of racists all across America who were celebrating the verdct

From the Economic Times today: Interesting that he and Alan Dershowitz came to have a cordial relationship after the trial.
quote:
Under cross-examination, Fuhrman testified that he had never made anti-Black racial slurs in the past decade, but a recording showed he had done so repeatedly. Alan Dershowitz, a prominent lawyer and law professor who was a legal strategist on Simpson’s defense “Dream Team,” said Fuhrman was a “much better detective than he was a witness.”
“He’s very smart, and you know, a very, very aggressive detective. Ultimately his actions helped us win the O.J. case because of his use of the ‘n’ word,” Dershowitz said on Monday evening (May 18, 2026), news agency AP reported. “I got to know him later, after it was all over, and we had a cordial relationship.”
