But the larger community is reacting with “he is transphobic and misogynistic and dead to me” comments.

I think you mean the smaller community is reacting with negative comments aimed at Lopez.

The larger community agrees with him.

He referenced God the Father 2xs, so yes, there are people who are "offended", that shouldn't be.

All he is saying is that preschool kids can change their minds and that women could lie about a relationship.

I hope he's still getting good residuals from Saved by the Bell because the Hollywood machine will loathe him for those statements to the point of blackballing him.

Is that REALLY controversial and offensive?

In 1993, Lopez was accused of date rape, but prosecutors found no evidence to support the allegation, and multiple witnesses "contradicted the woman's account of her encounter" with Mario.

Doesn't sound like he needed to pay a liar off.

I love Mario Lopez. Dude is a moderate, but is vocal about his views in super liberal Hollywood, which basically makes him a renegade conservative. Dean Cain is a badass as well.

Was there anything better than waking up on a school morning and having pee wees playhouse then saved by the bell back to back on TBS?

I think you mean Saturday mornings, but yeah that was pretty awesome.

And I have no idea what the deal is with his comments, but I am sure it is "news" that I just haven't heard yet. But he is right and seems to be coming from a very rational, calm stance. God forbid people do that these days.
