You are the most observably autistic poster on this site, and it isn't particularly close.

If you knew me irl, you’d know that that statement is immensely false.

I’m admittedly a numbers/statistics wonk, today I was planning an upcoming trip to Newfoundland (the closest land mass to the wreck site). This fact was noted on the Google map when I was doing a car trip plan there. So, I knew I didn’t know which countries were next closest behind behind Canada, France & the US.

I didn’t realize the Azores were that far west in the Atlantic so I’d have missed #4.

The best bar trivia question from this would be:

Which country is closer to the Titanic wreck: Iceland or Turks & Caicos?

This is where the snakes went after St: Patrick cast them out of Ireland.

Iceland 1,877
Spain (Madeira) 1,886
Dominican Republic 1,920

I never would have guessed the difference would be less than 50 miles from those three points.

Can I ask what you were planning to do in Newfoundland? Camping? St Johns?

I've been to a number of places in Canada, but that hadn't ever crossed my mind to try to make it to as so much of it is pretty inaccessible.

You are correct sir.

I’m not going to edit because my moral is “Forward, Always Forward!” (and also, newly my acquired “Hot Water Always”)

I don't understand wtf the point of this is. Is there some kind of something that happens if you're within 2000 miles of the wreck site?

Some people have trouble understanding these types of threads.

A) The Atlantic is big
B) There are ~195 countries* in the world. I arbitrarily stopped at 2,000 miles because it gave a pretty good feel for the scale of the Atlantic. I could have continued on but contrasting the difference in distance from Bhutan or from Nepal doesn’t contextually matter in illustrating the size of the Atlantic.
C) Facts

*Turks & Caicos is a dependency of the UK, not an independent state
