Cool map & interesting to visually reference the disparity between the Western U.S and the the Mid West, South and East Coast from a topography standpoint. That being said, I always forget how mountainous parts of New York, New Hampshire and Maine are by East of the MS standards. We're blessed to have just about every environment in one country and freely travel from somewhere with a Mediterranean climate to somewhere with an arctic climate and everything in between. Damn, I love this country.

You can definitely see why the wagon train stopped and decided to setup camp near Denver.

I think Florida is officially the flattest state.

I was shocked how hilly Tallahassee is.

People who talk about the Midwest being flat have never traveled to SELA.

It'd be even better if we got to see the elevation change up to Alaska.

I saw a show on the history channel a few years ago that said people going west in wagons in the pioneer days had a harder time crossing the Appalachians than they did the Rockies. They claimed that the Appalachians were steeper even though obviously not as high.

I'd love to see the same map before the last Ice Age.

Here's some other state maps they've put out. No AK, HI or even much of the Mountain West but here's a few

Heck Arkansas and lower Missouri are the only states with elevation between the west and east coast.

Really cool. Would like to see AK and HI for reference. Both pretty up and down.
