I was shocked to see how flat and swampy minnesota is. I felt like I was back in Louisiana except for the snow and ice

Pretty hilly in north central Florida too. I live 100+ ft above sea level.

Pretty much. They made is across Tay-Tay flat Kansas and Eastern Colorado perfectly fine. Then saw the Rockies and said “frick it. This looks good. We’re stopping here.”

A couple of things seem a little off:

Glacier National Park is up against the Canadian border, I don't see anything that looks high enough for it.

Mount Whitney in California is higher than anything else in the lower 48. Front range of Colorado is shown as higher.

I think Kansas is officially the flattest state, though Florida has to be really close. There was a study once where someone took a pancake and scaled it up to the size of Kansas and compared the topography. The state of Kansas is literally flatter than a pancake.

When people ask me about the terrain of La. I always tell them the land is so flat you can watch your dog run away for 5 days.

The tallest mountain in glacier national park is ~10,000 ft with most other tall peaks in the 8,000 ft range. I think glacier gives a false impression of being taller than it is because the mountains are extremely steep with sheer rock faces.

Mt. Whitney is kinda out by itself and there’s a couple of white specs in California that could be it. Hard to tell.

I doubt this. Have you ever been to Kansas? Eastern Kansas appears very flat but the elevation is still relatively high. Western Kansas is still farmland but it is deceptively large rolling hills. I’ve driven across the entire state east to west on I-70. Not fun but it’s not as flat as people think. Florida likely holds that honor.

She does nothing for me. Also I will always remember when she first started and was doing country her live performances sounded like complete shite and she would sing completely out of tune. I don’t think she just got better, she’s just artificial and filtered.

I grew up on "Old School" country and that his what I associate country music to. This newer stuff is shite and more country/pop than country. Hell, some of it actually sounds like rap done in a country twang.

I know of the gal and have heard a few of her songs but really could not name a single song by title if my life depended on it. I find her music to be all about the same as in, you hear one or two songs, you've pretty much heard them all.

Here's some other state maps they've put out. No AK, HI or even much of the Mountain West but here's a few

I like how the rudimentary one they have for Louisiana makes it look like there's a full blown mountain range covering the northwestern part of the state.

I know this place hates Cali but Lord the Sierra Nevadas and that vicinity is incredible. Has everything within a drive imaginable.

Yet California is either always in a drought or has wildfires everywhere. Plus just one major earthquake and the whole west side slides into the Pacific Ocean.

California is beautiful, it’s just the people suck. My experience is limited to NoCal but until you get to the Bay Area it’s shadier than anywhere else I’ve ever been. Redwood trees are the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen in person though.

It was nice, and I tried to get out as much as possible. I was in Bakersfield with an hour drive to be right in the middle of mountains and trees in Kernville.

Newsome and Cali frick everything up. I tried getting into the Sequoia one more time before I left. Covid restricted everything to permits that were 60 days out. California restricted access to open air.
