And time on Earth is slow in our consciousness, not much happens instantly, and usually takes tens of thousands of years for change. It's not blasphemy to say a creators work is still being created as initially intended, interjection of human choices and all.

This is a thread about real science. Take your religious claptrap elsewhere.

Actually many worlds theory is a bigger leap to accept than Christ’s resurrection.

So you believe in Theistic evolution?
Why are you so concerned with labels and grouping thoughts. I've never heard of what you're speaking of, my opinions come solely from learning about evolution in school and my exposure and attendance to church growing up.

I don’t know what that is. I know what I believe. Don’t box me in bro.

Spoken like someone that would make a terrible scientist.

it is Satanism. God created this Earth, don't let any Atheist scientists tell you otherwise.

Satan is a myth to explain when bad things happen to good people.

I mean a matrix type situation is not far fetched for the most anti-religious, we're only what our consciousness says we are. Having a higher power that programmed our existence as we know it is a real possibility. I feel people shut down and trap their minds about the infinite nature of the universe and our existence.

i will never get tired of reading that meme

Please educate me.
Because in a many worlds or "infinite" worlds theory, many or all the possible choices are made simultaneously, creating the infinite copies of the universe.
It's highly controversial because we have to have a really difficult to follow mental model of a web - because every choice you make intersects with the many/infinite choices others make. And all those threads intersect other threads in infinite combinations. So, what you get is a ball of these threads intersecting every other thread, at various points.

Just listened to about an hour of Sean Carroll on JRE Podcast. They were discussing the many worlds theory and I couldn’t understand what the frick they were going on about and better yet why.
They kept going on about infinite copies of myself and every time I made a decision the world split. But it doesn’t split. When I made that decision the world that would have been created with the other choice ceases to exist.
Please educate me.
It's Schrodinger's Cat with a Universe.

I was jk. I'm actually fascinated by "many worlds". thought experiments like these are what lead to breakthroughs. Schroedingers cat in the box probably roused the same dumb looks from people

Has to do with quantum mechanics. I went down the rabbit hole bad a few weeks ago

It’s whenever you have the world with whomever you are dating separate from the world you have when you’re with your friends. You have to keep those worlds apart or else they’ll collide and blow up.

I personally think it’s garbage. But it’s a decent explanation to the fine tuning argument, which is another topic entirely
You just got to the main heart of the argument. It’s a way to try and get around the simple conclusion that would arise from two pieces of evidence that we understand well. The universe’s existence required fine tuning to exist and our universe is not infinitely old.
There is zero evidence for the multiverse theory and it is not testable in any way. It’s wishful thinking.
For those who believe in the multiverse theory or think it has merit, answer this simple question... If the universe is infinitely old, how much older is the universe today than it was yesterday?

It's just another half-arse theory scientists have come up with in their attempt to rule out the existence of a divine being who created everything we see around us.

I wish my hair had fallen out in one of the other worlds instead of this one.

It is a serious theory
It isn’t theory, it’s philosophy. It’s premise is that if something can happen, it will happen. That’s a take on Murphy’s Law which is also philosophy.
Consider this, an entire Universe exists for an individual electron in an atom that can and will move into a different orbit around an atom’s nucleus? Ridiculous. Philosophy.

Let's assume I don't subscribe to the multiverse theory or think it has merit.
What if I told you that time is just another way to express entropy at the universal scale. So, the question isn't "older" or "younger" (which is understandably how a finite, sentient species would express it), but rather where along the entropy spectrum you are at the point of observation.
