Much akin to the theoretical concept of monkeys flying out of my arse.

I’m sorry you’re not smart.
But the thing is, it doesn’t impact you in any way. You can never react with that other you
Seems like a lot of assumptions have to be made to get to these theories.

Well, the universe is big, so whatever a basement-dwelling sci-fi nerd can dream up has already come to pass...ad infinitum.
Ergo my “monkeys flying out of my arse - universe” theory.

I’m hoping another me is more of a baller in another world.

A lot of this stuff is at least partially aligned with ideas such as string theory. Obviously all of it just inferences based on incomplete knowledge but its pretty interesting what all lines up with some of the basic principles of the known universe.
Some of the guys like Brian Greene have put out fairly readable popular science books explaining the underlying concepts and their possible implications.

We don’t even understand the human body and we can dissect it and look at it under a microscope. Humans are usually wrong about that which is observable.
I couldn’t be less interested in what someone thinks could possibly be happening in a parallel universe that can’t be observed or verified. But if it keeps the pseudo-intellectuals and college kids entertained then I guess there is some utility in an otherwise futile exercise.

Well what I was referencing meant more along the lines of the building blocks of the universe and math that show the different ways parallel universes could potentially be supported by what we currently "know".
There are certainly a whole lot worse forms of entertainment than pondering the universe and our existence and what future breakthroughs may end up supporting or disproving (breakthroughs disproving what we "know" historically end up being more valuable in the long run).

It’s based on the theoretical concept of a “speed force.” Basically, let’s say a person can reach a speed so fast, and with so much force, that this reality is literally torn (since space-time is a square circle). When this reality we are in (or which we perceive ourselves in) is torn in the slightest, we would be able to glimpse into the paradigm of an adjacent reality heretofore never seen in this which we live. Now turn that glimpse into actual entry. The person enters a new paradigm reality, a new space-time which was always there but never seen. The tear will instantly close, preserving the necessary square circle. Thus, both realities are now changed. This could happen infinite times—creating “Many Worlds”.
Hope that helps.

Why would the reality tear if a person goes to fast?

Just ignore everything he said. He obviously didn’t understand it either

First read about this fella Schrödinger’s cat: Wiki
Then consider that every single event. Every decision you make, every which way a ball could bounce, etc. Is like Schrödinger’s cat except the universe splits into two every time an event takes place representing every possible outcome.
This leads to an infinite number of universes with every possible outcome
I personally think it’s garbage. But it’s a decent explanation to the fine tuning argument, which is another topic entirely

Just listened to about an hour of Sean Carroll on JRE Podcast. They were discussing the many worlds theory and I couldn’t understand what the frick they were going on about
I like Rogan usually, but this episode he came off as such an a-hole know it all. I forget what exactly he was hung up on, but he kept interrupting the dude over one element of the theory and would not let it go. It ruined what should have been an interesting episode for me.
The guy explained what he was trying to convey like 10 times to Rogan, and Joe just kept saying, "But, why?" frick man, let it go and let the expert talk about the theory.

Wow! Don't you feel a little bit more now like you do than before you first got here?
Wanted to make that much longer and hop to the Many Words Theory.

Maybe some of the enlightened evening posters can shed light on this nerd fantasy science.

The Many Worlds Theory is pop science. Proponents like Sean Carroll use it and other off-the-wall ideas to sell books, lure listeners to their podcasts, etc. It isn’t serious science.

I figured it was garbage. Everything they talked about was super vague....no specifics....talked about how everyone can understand this shite. I understood it I just knew it was bullshite.
