He brought a gun to a toilet paper fight.

I’ll go ask the landscaper at my estate if that sum of landscaping damage is legit.

If someone pulls a gun on my kids for TP'ng a house, I am going to be waiting on that dudes front porch for when he gets back from jail, and I'm going to beat the everliving frick out of him. Then I might nail his old lady too, for shits and gigs.

I would recommend you start with teaching your kids a little respect for the property of others. Your Billy Bad arse approach would likely end up with you getting shot.

I don't know the laws in that state the story was mentioned, but I was looking at gun laws and saw that if a criminal act worthy of a felony was being committed on your property, you can kill them to protect your property. This had more to do with theft, but if the story of 10,000$ worth of damages is correct, then I wonder how this would be seen by a judge. Granted this is the extreme for that situation, I would hope.

The guy has issues, and it doesn’t sound like he has taken a deep breath and realized he overreacted.

However, why weren’t the teens issued a citation? I understand police not wanting some psycho chasing down teen girls, but they have to care at least a little about a bunch of brats damaging a homeowner’s property.

The rational approach would be to catch up to them. Tell them to either come over at dawn and start cleaning up, or he’d start calling their parents.

A Citation for rolling someone's yard with tp? Did they actually damage anything? I've seen the $10k figure thrown around, but I've also seen people post that that is BS

this is probably bullshite

You can pull out a gun, and if the girls had one they'd be justified in shooting back, but it's not illegal to pull one out and nothing else

Don't rely on this as legal advice folks. So much wrong there.

Let's make this simple - Absent an articulable fear of great bodily harm or death, you can't use deadly force. The act of threatening the use of deadly force, in this case brandishing a firearm at someone, is called Aggravated Assault. An affirmative defense against the charge of Aggravated Assault would need to be "I felt reasonably threatened" and not "they were destroying my yard" and that is why he got arrested. Now if the guy went with the "I thought that 14 year old girl was going to kick my arse" defense (and the police / DA believed him) then he might be able to beat the charge.*

*NONE OF THIS is legal advice and, to beat everyone to the punch, I don't know shite about what I am talking about and what your drinking buddy/what you read on the internet/what you heard at the gun range is definitely the correct answer.

From the end of the article at the link is a quote from the MPD Police Chief:

quote:

The incident remains under investigation, and additional charges could be brought against those responsible for "rolling the house,"which is technically considered criminal mischief by statute, he said

BTW, LOL at a city where a Toilet Papering gets the Chief in the paper. Here in Baton Rouge that requires a quadruple homicide.
