They call them "Sea Cows". Not sure of the intelligence level but they are slow as shite and basically just cruise along eating grass and shite.

yeah, I'm calling bullshite on this. I've fished Charlotte Harbor area for over 10 years and its not that big of a deal.
Hell, normal boat traffic is more of an issue than the manatees
Just calling it like I see it. Buddy of mine lives in Florida and has a boat. Seems like every time we go out in it to a spring or whatever it takes forever to get there because we are in constant manatee no wake zones.
I'd rather not have that here so I don't want manatees showing up.

Not that unusual. a few years ago there was one hanging around the Madisonville boat launch at the end of lake road.

Ha! what a dick. Its nature. You owe a duty not to kill shite with your engine just because you want some entertainment.

God forbid an animal that's lived here forever causes a nusance to boaters... Let's just kill em all off with the bison, bears, mountain lions, etc and sell their parts for a profit to the asians.
Then we can be like Africa.
Then we can be like Africa.

Kind of want a manatee steak now.
I touched one swimming when I was in Florida years back.

My Cousins and I came across one in Lake Houma once. We were rabbit hunting on a ridge around the lake and saw that fricker in a little canal between the lake and the intracoastal. It cared the shite out of us.

I hope all the people hating on euthanizing your own dog show up to hate on killing manatees just so you can get to your favorite fishing hole faster.

Well there's the issue. They are known to congregate in those warm-water springs, especially in winter. They only make it out this way during the summer. A manatee would be in a bind if it got caught over here when it got cold.
Though, winters are warming, so who knows what the future holds...

You can go to the park down the road from where i live to see them. Im with you people will complain about anything. Reminds me of when people move into the wilderness in alaska and say someone needs to do something about these bears

Manatees are harder to bang
Posted on 7/27/18 at 9:11 am to Peazey
As slow as those things are, it had to YEARS for that thing to get there from Florida.

I've seen more sexy Manatees walking through the LSU Quad on a Tuesday morning, Sir.

They have that distinct LaPlace/Hahnville country-yat accent.
