True.

I say three scrambled eggs and fifty bacon strips should do.

I'd road rage too.

But I wouldn't chase someone through red lights with a loaded gun ready to shoot them.

Being cooped up for the next 20 years in jail would be rough

Ugh, no. He pulled a gun and chased someone in his vehicle, leading to a fatal crash. He's not getting off.

Omelette this here for y’all. When a jury peels the evidence down to the facts, the judge won’t be yolking around with his sentence, but he won’t fry for temporarily cracking up.

I agree with you, but this is also the argument made to stop police from chasing criminals. Double edged sword.

So a 14 year old, who is not able to drive legally. Did property damage to someone's vehicle, and while fleeing the scene of the crime, ran a red light and killed someone.....

and the guy who got originally assaulted goes to jail for life?

Really? You think flashing the gun matters? Had he said, I'm calling the cops and simply followed this kid, it would have made a difference? The kid would still be fleeing, would still be illegal to drive, and would have still ran the light.

So, if someone hit and runs my car, and I call the police and follow them, and the criminal gets in a wreck and kills someone, I should go to jail?

wtf.

I feel like your scenario is lacking in a couple of key details from the real scenario

Wonder what sort of punishment the kids are going to receive.

It's not okay for the dude to react poorly and chase them, but it's okay for them to react poorly and drive very shitty after the fact.

I'd place more blame on the youngsters than this fellow. He didn't crash, the kids did. All are guilty of bad choices worth some punishment though.

He might plea him down a bit but I would imagine the DA wants to make and example since it’s high profile.

React poorly? He brandished a gun and initiated a high speed chase. Screaming and tail gating is behaving poorly. What he did is criminal.
