it pretty much is that simple. and idk if it'll happen or not but if a relative got me a lottery ticket and it hit 50k i'd probably give them 5k anyway. now that she made it an issue i wouldnt give that bitch a dime.

I ended up with scratch offs in a white elephant exchange and told the room I'd split the prize with everyone if the scratch offs won a significant amount

Ended up winning $7 among the 5 tickets

And depending on who gave it to me I’d consider straight up splitting it

I have an uncle who does gifts like this. He’s the type that LOVES buying for other people and he’s pretty well off. I doubt he or his wife (my aunt) would take a penny from me

It’s just about being decent people

A legal claim of ownership, but it’s mostly just a silly colloquialism for that the person trying to take something being possessed by someone else generally has the burden of proof.
