(From the article):The Fairdale man says he went upstairs to get camping lanterns as he prepared for the approaching storm to knock out electricity. That’s when he looked out the window and started recording cell phone video of a massive tornado getting closer and closer. There was no time for the 85-year-old to run back downstairs, and in an instant the tornado ripped his house apart.
The dude was filming for over two minutes before the tornado hit.

MORAL: 85 years-old does not always equal WISE.

Of course, sorry folks died.

WTF he sat up there for like 2mins recording it for a distance. I guess he was in the right spot though since his wife (RIP) died and she was down stairs

Holy crap. That thing was scary watching it coming at you on my phone. Couldn't imagine in real life.

Clem seems to have forgotten to duck. Damned if I'd just sit upstairs recording as that thing came down on me and my family.

The least he could have done was yell down and tell her to take whatever cover she could.

So sad, now he has to live every day of his life wondering what would have happened if he would have gone downstairs and found shelter for him and his wife.

I am impressed that an 85 year old man knew how to record video on a cell phone.

That has to be the worst feeling ever to have someone tell you not to look down because your life partner perished in something that you spent your whole life putting together.

I'm not sure I could forgive myself for not being with my wife while that was happening. I can only assume he went into shock when he saw the tornado and was dumbfounded. Sad situation.

He knew his time was coming. How does one sit there and watch that thing approach without showing any emotion whatsoever?

I'm going to give the guy the benefit of the doubt and assume he was basically in shock and didn't realize how long he was sitting there for.
