What was holding that phone?
My dad is 69 and cant film a cell video, and certainly would not hold it that still?
Shows how hard it can be to get a bead on them. up to 1:15-1:30 it looks fine. like that thing is just gonna move on down the horizon. Then it jogs or reforms or corrects? Whatever, and it is a block away and pulling toward him.
Does he EVER make a sound?

Serious question: I live in LA like most, so my house doesn't have a cellar or storm shelter. If one were to see a Tornado cloud of that magnitude directly approaching the house, would it be better to get in your vehicle and flee?

@skeet, I thought about that very thing.
Would it be best to get in a vehicle and just flee.. It very well may have been..
I think that's the case if there's only one though. If there are multiple maybe not a good idea?
Any ways, this guy is very very old and you can hear him struggling to breath.
Sad

NO! A vehicle is one of the worst places to be.
Go to the lowest level of your house and get in an interior room. If there is a bathroom located in the middle of the house even better, get in the bathtub and put sheets or a mattress on top of you if you have time.
If you are in a vehicle it is better to get out and go into a ditch and lie flat. Sounds crazy but it is true.

I've heard this before too, but how was this information learned?
I mean.. if 100 people get into ditches and 99 get sucked out and flung into orbit... then the only person left to be interviewed would say it worked.
And I've never seen an interview of someone that got in a ditch either. Hell they'd probably drown.

I am impressed that an 85 year old man knew how to record video on a cell phone.
There's an initial reluctance to learning, but once an older person gets over that barrier, don't get between them and their iphone.

guy had nerves of steel to hold it still on landscape mode...kids can learn a lot from the older generation.

you wouldn't want to be in a car because that tornado will pick that thing up and throw you 3 miles.

train wrecks are easier to watch than this was.

That was my first thought as well
The sounds of the thunder as it approaches is eery.

I'm facinated by this: tornado is easily one of ten best ways to meet your Maker. Top 3 most likely. It's rare-like you were chosen

Mauled and eaten by a grizzly (like the crazy dude who lived with them) is also top 10. You will live on as part of the bear (though part of you would also be poop).

Just...

No, not at all.
The opposite, in fact.

Looking at the Tornado, I thought it would go to the right.

Maybe she's been nagging his arse for 60 years and he thought he'd just let the chips fall where the fall.
