A teen who fatally beat a homeless man pleaded guilty Thursday as part of a sweetheart deal that will land him in jail for just nine months.

Branlee Gonzalez, 19, smirked his way through the proceeding in Manhattan Supreme Court then turned to his family in the gallery flashing a broad smile and gave them a thumbs up and wink before he was taken into custody.

Gonzalez had to cop to manslaughter and attempted assault but will have a sealed record as a youthful offender for the beatdown of Lucio Bravo, 69, on May 18, 2017.

Justice Guy Mitchell came under fire for initially telling Gonzalez he’d likely get a no-jail deal but changed his mind and offered one and a third to four years the same day The Post began covering the case.

Nine Month Prison Sentence

Sad. He wasn't even going to be punished at all until the media got involved.

And the whole headline itself sucks. "Teen"

I know 19 is technically teen. But in all 50 states, you're an adult!

I’ve thought multiple times about punching homeless people who chastise me for not just handing over free money when I lived in Houston. Luckily it also crossed my mind that I had nothing to gain and everything to lose by doing so.

This guy will have a tough time being successful in life because of this incident even tho it was probably warranted.

Have a feeling this will not be the only prison sentence Branlee will receive in his lifetime.

he's a gang member. The homeless man catcalled his cousin. Yes, beating him to death was warranted.

If he beat a man to death and only attempted assault I'd hate to see what happens when he actually achieves it.
