"Officers pursued Brooks on foot and, during the chase, Brooks turned and pointed the Taser at the officer. The officer fired his weapon, striking Brooks. A copy of this video will be released to the public," the GBI wrote Saturday on Twitter.
How did he get shot in the back if he turned and pointed the taser at the officer? Wouldn't he have been shot in the chest? From the front? Looking at the footage...he didn't turn...he pointed his arm back towards them while running away.
Regardless, these scenarios are becoming exhausting. I just don't know what to say any longer. This is how it appears to me...the BLM movement is becoming more like politics...you can't have a civil discourse about the issues or the scenario because people have completely lost their minds. You can't discuss why things like this happen because people continue to raise their voices higher than yours to drown out the real problems. We need civil debate and determine root cause.
1. Did the man deserve to be shot? No.
2. Does he have the right to resist arrest when he clearly broke the law? No. But there will be an argument around this.
3. According to the story, he failed a sobriety test so obviously he was calm at some point. They attempted to arrest him and he fought back. Well, that's on him but protesters don't want to discuss that. All they see is a man who ran away and was shot.
We will never get anywhere until people can calm down and review all the facts to determine why things like this happen. It doesn't matter what ethnicity you are, what nationality you are...if you break the law you should expect to be arrested and/or have charges brought against you. If you resist arrest, you're now creating a situation of violence...you're putting your life in danger. Why can't people see that??
Even with all that...he still didn't deserve to be shot.

He fired a taser at the officer. While he stole a taser, it doesn't mean that he didn't have a gun.
11pm at night, the NYT has video showing the guy fire the weapon at the officer and the officer dodges/moves to his left while drawing and firing 3 shots before the guy (running) makes 2 more steps (how fast he drew and shot AFTER being fired upon)
He died because he murdered himself

That's because liberalism is a mental disorder.
So is right-wing conservatism. It's on both sides of the aisle.

Did you see the camera angle from Wendy's?
He turns and points at the officer. How do we know this? The light artifact from the taser is clearly seen toward the officer. The same artifact can be seen from the light of the officer's gun.
The only thing we dont clearly see is where the bullet went.

One respects the flag, loves free expression, the 2nd amendment, and follows the constitution to a T.
The other hates America’s past, wants to erase it, and censure any and all speech of those who oppose them.
Please tell me which is mentally deranged?

Fight the police because you want to avoid arrest because driving could possibly kill another motorist.
You lose all rights at that point.
Nothing to see here.

Man, watching the body cam footage, it’s really incredible the cops didn’t just assist in getting him home instead of arresting him. Pretty crazy they let it escalate to the point of killing him.

C'mon, it's not that cut and dry. You can't label all liberals as deranged and surely, not all disrespect the flag or try to suppress free expression.
Most of my liberal friends are open to new opinions and are respectful of individual rights and freedoms. Not one of them wants to erase America's past or censure freedom of speech.
There are extremists on both sides. That is what I reference.

Don’t resist. Don’t forcefully take an officer’s weapon. Don’t point it at the officer while trying to escape.

Can you tell these friends to run for office and speak out against those that are? Because almost every dem I’ve seen these days is anti-police, pro-looting, pro-rioting, and pro-doxxing those they don’t agree with.
ETA: at least understanding of looting, rioting, doxxing and not speaking out against it.

Yes watch this officer Tatum video. If you watch that and still want to defend the thug, you are part of the problem
