Does the fact that it’s taboo make the uniform look cooler than it is or is it just an objectively cool looking uniform? These are the things I need to know.

I want one.
I'll take the swastika off, of course.

There are conventions where you can buy the bloodied or clean uniform of actual dead Nazis. There is a massive market for Nazi memorabilia among history buffs and collectors.
I bet a whole uniform would cost more than a trip to Austria for a fully tailored replica, but it's way cooler.

We dug up a ss standarte in a field in covington in 2004 or so. Tossed there of all places.
Posted on a ww2 forum. Guy immediately paypaled me 500 to drive it to dallas. And gave me another 3500 in cash for it. He drove from new mexico to meet me.
Absolutely mad.
Eta: i got screwed. The only one I've found sold... Brought 33000 euros. Jesus.

Mel Brooks (Jewish) knew the best way to defeat it was to make fun of it.

What an embarrassment to our WWII veterans.
You mean the WWII veterans who brought back Nazi/German memorabilia (flags, armbands, pistols, etc) by the boatloads?

It's objectively incredible historical artifacts. My MIL had a nazi dagger her dad pulled off a dirty facist that I always just marveled at every time I visited. Pretty sure her son sold it for something perishable because it was gone one time with no explanation.

Arresting him makes no sense. What was it that he did wrong?

I guess the people screaming at him should be given credit for at least recognizing that it was a Nazi uniform. Most wouldn’t know
What the hell it was.

Harry Caray would have a brain aneurism if he watched The Producers. He can’t decipher between a real nazi and someone wearing a nazi costume.

Obviously did it as a joke. I'm surprised these dumb college kids even knew what he was dressed as.
I was in Athens once during a Halloween party and dipshits were high fiving a dude dressed in a priest costume with a kid's head bouncing off his crotch. That turned me off to Athens for many years.

What I've gathered in reading this thread is that some people believe its ok to put their hands on someone because of what they are wearing for Halloween
Thats pathetic

This is so stupid.
So, you can literally "dress" up as the actual Satan but not a German soldier?
This country needs some fricking perspective.
I would be the first to admit that "context is everything" and that if one can dress up as Satan, Zombie Jesus, demons, devils, etc., then, for those same events, one ought to be able to dress up as a member of the Waffen SS (or literally Hitler).
On the other hand, if one does that provocatively, i.e., dressing up as such and going to synagogue or at some other, non-Halloween, non-dress up event, one might get one's arse kicked.
So, I can see both sides of this argument.

A lot of the items you can purchase/find today are exactly this.
Dude's uniform is way too clean though. And that's something that would not be easily obtained, or in ready to wear condition, and it would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $15-20K if it were in fact original.
And he's entirely too young to be a major.

You have a problem with people dressing as Donald Trump?
Hell, I wouldn’t even mind someone dressing up as a real life, modern day, TRULY F*CKING EVIL serial killer....
