I thought so too. But I think it may just be “holy shite, I’m fricked and going to prison” eyes.

Why do judges feel the need to justify? Just tell the fricker he's going to rot in jail and be done.

They have to create a record for the appeal as to why they made the decisions they made.

When your 18 you don't even think about what could happen. I'm sure he is a dipshit, most are at that age. But he will have alot of time to think about his stupidity, maybe he will come out of this a better man. I look back on my younger days and think that this could be me doing stupid stuff that I wouldn't even think about doing today. Wishing him to die , rot in hell , and a slow death are over the top.

This is a State case. His time will be in Florida State Prison, not the Federal Prison system. His time will be much much harder in the state system.

He deserves it.

Our "justice" system will send a white kid to prison for over 2 decades for an unintentional homicide, but if you're a ghetto black girl and intentionally rob an immigrant cab driver which leads to his death, you can virtually escape prison altogether.

How irresponsible is our society to glorify irresponsible driving in movies and pop culture.

He is not a kid. And he is just as ghetto and thug like as this chick... He deserves to rot in prison and thankfully he will. You should be thankful it wasn't your mother or daughter who died that day.

He was racing in excess of 100+ mph..he wasn't doing 50 in a 35 because he was late for work.

But yeah. There is a mass incarceration of white males for petty crimes compared to any other demographic.... totally.

I disagree.

There was no intent to harm.

24 years is a lot. I’ve seen people, in person, on scene, who have killed, under the influence while driving and served no time. I know one who post here.

I don’t believe he deserves 24 years. IMO

Again, on what planet does racing a vehicle equate to tazing a man, stealing his car while he holds onto it and then crashing it, causing him to be crushed to death?

This is definitely one of those stupid games stupid prize; made your bed, lay in it; don't do the crime if you can't do the time...24 years may be harsh. But if he took into consideration all the variables that could happen if things went wrong while racing he wouldn't be in this situation. So oh fricking well
