I hate people. That is all.

I have a five old daughter. This absolutely breaks my heart. It makes me feel physically ill to imagine that poor child wandering to his death, frightened and alone, in the rain.

somewhat vague wording of thread title

he pulled his Dodge Charger into a church parking lot and made the boy get out in the rain
Welp, we can deduce certain things from this

East Alabama, Dodge Charger, mom’s (soon to be ex) military BF...obviously not the poor little guy’s fault but damn what a trashy scenario

I think they should lock Mom's arse up as well for endangering her child by dating such a piece of shite.
It's almost always "Mom's boyfriend".

I know. Think about how many people the Japanese killed in WWII and you're driving their vehicle.

where the boy had been struck by an oncoming Toyota Avalon. The road was dark and the boy was hard to see, and the driver of the Toyota was not at fault, Taylor said.

Objection. Improper use of word man. Should be substituted with low IQ subhuman meth head.

I’m sure the kid was being super annoying and the soldier was at his wit’s end with him, but to turn him out into the rain was not a sensible punishment. Obviously the child was high strung. Would have been better if he had gotten out, too. Just didn’t think it through.

There are a lot of details missing here. The article says he pulled into a church parking lot and told the kid to get out of the car.
I'm not saying this is what happened, but I can 100% assure you that my parents would have had no problem pulling a car off the road and into a parking lot in the rain and telling me to get out so they could discipline my arse if I was being incredibly unruly while they were driving. I can also 100% say that, as a shite head 5 year old, I might have opened the door and run off to avoid a spanking.
If that is what happened, then they shouldn't be charging him with reckless murder. Maybe that charge is less serious than it sounds in Georgia, but usually this is called some kind of negligent homicide or even reckless endangerment.
If he ordered the kid out and told him to walk home in the dark or something, then the murder charge is entirely appropriate.
Big price to pay for disciplining someone else's kid. Can't imagine being a dad and having to worry about my child's mother leaving my kid in these situations with some other guy.

The driver of the vehicle deserves a go too.
