A man was convicted of 14 federal charges related to rolling back odometers on vehicles at his used car lot in south Huntsville. Randy Eugene Greene was found guilty of 11 counts of tampering with vehicle odometers and three counts of bank fraud. The 62-year-old will be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Abdul K. Kallon on July 17. Greene was convicted of rolling back odometers between 2014-16 at RJ’s Auto Sales on South Memorial Parkway, according to federal prosecutors. The lot has since been under new ownership.

“The largest discrepancy in the changed odometer reading was approximately 218,678 miles,” federal prosecutors said in a news release. “The average discrepancy in the mileage on the odometers for the various vehicles was 122,046 miles.” During a four-day trial, eleven people testified about purchasing vehicles from Greene. Each said they wouldn’t have bought the vehicle or paid the price if they knew the true mileage, prosecutors said. Additionally, auto auction dealers testified about the mileage that was on the vehicles when they were sold to Greene.

Black guy with "grill" is NOT the car dealer. He's a side story.
This is the car dealer.

How anyone would think they could get away with rolling back an odometer. What an idiot.

You could if you were the original owner on an older model car I suppose since nobody would know.
I’m sure it’s impossible to do on a newer model with computer/digital odometers
