25 years ago or so I had an IZuzu Rodeo and the speed odometer broke which caused mileage odometer to stop working.

I gotchu dawg. Right here is a Chevrolet Monte Carlo produced in 1978 with only 19 miles. You can have it for tree fiddy!

A person has to be really gullible to look at a car and think it has 30,000 miles on it, when the obvious signs of wear point to 240,000!

I knew a guy that bought a 1992 Chevy W/T pickup with 35,000 miles on the odometer.
The odometer didn’t work, it had 2 bald front tires, dry-rotted rear mud tires, a bed floor that was bent around the frame, a broken A/C, a missing window seal, a missing rear view mirror, and a missing tailgate. The paint job looked as if the truck was parked IN a salt dome for about 10 years.
We think it had more like 450,000 hard miles.
In his case, the price reflected the condition of the truck, not the mileage.

Only if you also serviced the car yourself, mileage is reported with every oil change and service record
