Doesn't Louisiana have a "felony murder" law, where anyone committing a dangerous felony that results in death is guilty of murder, regardless of intent?
(I am thinking the dangerous felony here is burglary by sudden snatching.)

Without knowing m(any) I would assume they are trying not to overcharge to ensure a conviction.

Manslaughter? Nah, that's murder.

Don’t know what’s up with the DA’s office
The old Democrat DA was considered to be too anti-crime, so a city councilman/criminal defense attorney ran and won. From the glowing campaign biography posted on the official office website:
quote:
Jason’s 2008 run for District Attorney was not for political gain, it was because for 15 years he has sincerely believed that we need to transform New Orleans’ criminal legal system into an instrument of progress, not an instrument of oppression. So he re-focused on representing and advocating for people from our city’s marginalized communities, doubled down on his pro bono work with Innocence Project New Orleans, and considered where he could best help re-make the dysfunctional systems he saw.
quote:
Jason challenged President Trump’s horrific immigration policies, making it clear that no New Orleans agency or officer would be allowed to participate in any ICE raids or initiatives. He has also worked with fellow members of the council to achieve municipal bail reform

A more sensible position might be "All murder is bad. I dislike all who commit murder."
That makes a lot more sense than "Because some murders happen, I approve of and encourage other murders happening."

But of course that's not the position he's taken. I suspect you knew that.

Does anyone have any hope that this RACIST PIECE OF PURE F*CKING FILTH in the D.A.'s office will charge this ANIMAL with a hate crime?
And, we all know that no one in the Biden administration, especially the politicized f*cking SCUMBAG Merrick Garland, will even look at this HATE CRIME as a civil rights violation as they are looking to do with the VERY, VERY, VERY small number of black victims of white crimes (see my avatar). Of course this is mainly due to the fact that in their politicized view of justice (and, OF COURSE, to pander), whites don't have civil rights -- only THEIR black voters do.
