Should have fed Roscoe some beans

What a sad story. Passers-by say to themselves, "frick the hungry, poor and tired homeless human, someone needs to help that horse."

Horses in hard work need much more than grass.
And need a ton of grass
And need a ton of grass

What was the horse before he started the journey.... 4 months and 700 miles can knock off some weight eh?

If you are working a horse it either needs to eat grass for 6-8 hours a day or be suplimented with something like alfalfa hay or sweet feed.
Did the settlers stop at the local co-op to pick this up during the journey out West?

Poor guy's wife leaves him for another man, kicks him out of the house, keeps their only car, man gets on the horse he loves and only possession, they take off for warmer weather to get out of the cold, both almost starve to death and he gets arrested. Sounds fair to me. America! Throw him in prison and add to our number one in the world title of locking up our citizens.

Help you? frick no, you're going to jail.

They weren't feeding their horses grass lol. Horses need to spend 7-8 hours a day to get enough grass. They can consume hay 100x much more efficiently for long journeys

According to WPLG, Trigger was found with low body weight and low body fat. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being almost obese, Trigger registered a 3.
Throw this idiot in jail for a long time.

I'm finding it hard to understand how civilization survived the 19th century...
Posted on 11/26/16 at 4:24 pm to Zephyrius
That's easy. They weren't pussies.
Posted on 11/26/16 at 5:05 pm to Sparkplug#1
There were plenty of pussies in every area of human civilization.
If you do t think the Victorian era produced pussies that would shock us today, I do t know what to tell you

Serious question: Did the cowboys on long cattle drives bring along wagons of grain or hay to feed their horses?

Why would anyone ride Sarah Jessica Parker?
Posted on 11/26/16 at 7:50 pm to Street Hawk
Didn't Eustace Conway take a horse from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean in record time? Of course the horse is going to be tired and somewhat unhealthy.
