I fully expect BRPD to start patrolling our unincorporated neighborhoods after all of this is over since we are in fact, better together. RITE?

Hopefully now that this is close to over I won't have to hear any more moronic spewings from John Delgado mouth.

BR proper was always going to move heaven and earth to make sure the incorporation didn't happen. Ultimately they will succeed and St. George won't become a reality. The sad part is that while the BR city leaders are grandstanding about how they "saved" Baton Rouge, they'll forget how much the city is "better together", and the same shitty school system will keep moving along sucking up more and more wasted dollars along the way.

I would like to think that, too, but unfortunately he is going to run for a higher office, IMO. That's why he's doing the grandstanding.

I said last week that the slogan shouldn't be "better together," it should be "better for me because I get my services subsidized by taxpayers in the unincorporated area."

I am against St. George because it will be expensive as hell but they absolutely have the moral high ground in the argument.

Check, St. Georgians. What's your next move?

Probably out of EBR. No wonder people are GTFO of BR and moving to surrounding parishes. Ebr government sux a nut and will do anything in their power to have their way.

I suspect he is probably eyeing the mayor's spot. The irony is that he likely would have had a better chance to win that position had St. George split off. With his assinine comments througout this whole thing he has essentially alientated a large part of the parish who would go out of their way to make sure he doesn't move any higher than metro councilmen of Southdowns.

And you still haven't provided any evidence for that claim.

Sure I have. Everyone in EBR pays for services exclusive to BR City.

St. George can build their own white mall within the proposed city limits. MoL will eventually go the way of Cortana anyways.

so we should just accept that the br school system and leaders have no fricking clue what they are doing?
my kids do not even go to public school in br, but my tax dollars pay for them.
i guess me demanding that they do a better job is unjust

They just invented this new thing in America, called voting, where you can vote for legislators, metro council members, and SCHOOL Board members. You don't have to "accept" anything. Most Baton Rouge elected bodies, like Metro Council and School Board are still white majority.

Only problem is no one in SE BR apparently knows this process exists except to divide, and the few that do vote for school board keep electing the same shitty, ineffective representatives. We here in Baton Rouge would like your help in reforming things, if you accept that your Browning/Rainey hate movement/money grab is over.

Of the 12 districts in EBR, the unincorporated area holds a majority in 3, and splits a fourth district.

BR wasn't doing shite to improve the schools until this movement started.

That's fricking hysterical considering the irony.

Trying to improve where they live they should work to make the City itself better, not try to ruin it.

St george residents don't live in the city. Why should they leave their own area, and go into a neighboring city to help them when there is work to do in their own back yard?

Ok, so the rest of Baton Rouge is only interested bad schools, and the unincorporated utopia is interested in good schools. Gotcha

And I wouldn't classify Baton Rouge responding to a punch with a punch as ironic.

What's ironic is that St George's land grab/tax base grab that they expanded to from their original community plan proved to be its undoing.
