while punching a woman as a man is never ever acceptable, one person punching another person after being hit/shoved and her child stealing from their business....is NOT RACIST.

I had family that used to run a ghetto convenience store. By the end they only kept it around to keep some of their kids employed and the last straw was one of them being robbed with a gun to his head. They sold out and I believe that the buyers and all the other stores were run by Vietnamese at that point.
It comes with the territory. Most Asians that immigrated had nothing in life and their sole purpose is to raise their children and to provide, at all cost.
The money for the corner stores are loaded, but the territory is you deal with the ghettos and you also risk your life. They know that, it's unfortunate, but it's how Asians tend to think. Financial responsibility is big to them.

And you're darned right it's "disturbing"--that mother obviously didn't care that her kid shoplifted, and she physically reached at the store owner when he rightfully and nonviolently confronted them about it. Maybe it's in a lesser light if the thing had been returned, but the mom sure seemed righteous when her kid was in the wrong.

I realize the OT is going to offer a lot of leeway here because the woman is black, but I think we should be consistent. If you don't think men should hit women then don't support this behavior.
Here's my unpopular take on this: Men should be able to hit women. If men are able to hit women and women understand this, then fewer women will be hit because fewer women will act as if they can't be hit.
I'll tell any woman that if she ever hits me in the face I'm going to hit her back equally as hard. That's an obvious human response that you shouldn't have to communicate. But you sometimes have to treat women like children in that way. Because in many ways we've treated them like they can get away with anything they want because we want to have sex with them. And they've come to believe that. Sorry, I have too much self-respect for that.
