I would not be surprised to see a 9.0 Richter quake pop off under LA right about now.

Watching the CBS Los Angeles affiliate just now was devastating as the reporter walked through the streets of Altadena and saw two houses go up in flames as embers landed on their roofs during the live broadcast.

100 mph wind gusts for days. Is this common? If so, how do they live like this?

Same here. Altadena is getting wiped off of the map and Pasadena is starting to get it. This is stunning. The lady that is crying in the background right now. Good lord.

It is common with Santa Ana wind events like this. Those higher gusts are at higher elevations. It is more common to see steady wind in the 20-40mph range with gusts up to 70+.

Only if the fire was last October, it would have. But they don't have a house today if that makes you feel better with your snarky comment.

They’re currently rescuing chickens and ducks from the wailing lady’s home in Pasadena.

Did they dump gasoline on the Eaton fire near Pasadena? Last I heard it was just a few hundred acres; now they are saying 10,000+ acres on that fire alone.

Also is there a new fire near LAX?

No one showed anyone down here any empathy and they certainly didn't speak highly of anyone down here either during any of the events Louisiana has had over the last 24 years.

I’m going to call BS on this. I know that first responders from several counties out here sent people to help. I also know that there were fundraisers set up by many alumni chapters. We partnered with other SEC schools as well as schools outside the SEC. We let people choose which charity they donated to and we did all the work.

Just because there are some dickwads out here, doesn’t mean everyone is.

Right now we are looking for a hotel to stay in as we got our evacuation orders a few hours ago. No power since 6:30 last night. We packed a bag, grabbed the dogs, the lap tops and the kid and took off.

They have Sonic in California? or do we need to ask for an one time exception for knuckle checks at In-and-Out?
