you do realize that just because certain political parties are elected, that not every person there voted for them? and before you say, well they can move - how realistic is that nowadays?
the fact is, noone deserves what is happening there - they are fricking human beings you piece of shite.
i would wager ignorant fricks like you are way worse in the long run.

Your comments today aren’t doing much to change that narrative.
Thats fine.
I am not on national tv making statements on behalf of the South, thank God.
Fine, like I said, Im willing to die on this hill against that state. Yes, I am, in this situation a very shitty person and I am just like those I detest. 100% agree.
I am willing to admit all of that and march forward. I am not letting a fire erase all the bullshite ideology California in particular has exposed the United States to.
This fire will be extinguished. The houses will be rebuilt.
The ideology will still be here long past that time.

Just letting you know that no one on the West and certainly not the North East cared at all when things were bad here. Not even a shred.
Isn’t this how we got into this situation in the first place? Politicians only caring about themselves and lining their pockets. Maybe it’s time to change.

George, just don’t engage him. He’s not here to do anything other than troll.
Yea. I'm starting to think so. At least, I hope so. He said he'd "die on a hill" for a self-admittedly "dumb statement". He's either a troll or slow.

The thing that gets me is that he speaks for all of us out here. Of course he has no idea what in the hell he’s talking about but that doesn’t stop him. I know someone that took in her nephew after Katrina because their home was destroyed. My BIL lives in Bowling Green and when the tornados came through a few years back I was in that thread providing info on where locals could go for food. But you know, us Californians don’t care about anyone in the Southeast. We’re just a bunch of elitists. Human tragedies should bring people together. Empathy matters in these times. Being a know-it-all dick for the sake of being edgy is just dumb.

I propose everyone ignores him and the thread goes back to fire updates/news.

California banned prescribed burns to "save the environment". Well asshats...What's better for the environment. Smaller controlled burns or major out of control fires burning houses, cars and all sorts of toxic materials.
Now they are gonna put the climate change badge on the fires saying climate change made it drier and winds stronger. No... your own stupid climate policies allowed this to happen.

Please
I popped in to get the typical OT up to the minute updates and there's nothing but political BS.

This again?
They sure do a hell of a lot of prescribed burns for them to be fricking "banned". Stop talking out of your arse and parroting lines you are fed.

it’s hard to imagine what the final dollar number is going to be on all this real estate. Shockingly high.
the ramifications of all of this is going to big
more insurance company losses which is going to drive up prices even more on everyone
how many of these people get their check and don’t rebuild there but take their money to another state and further drive the California spread of real estate to other states
on the pro side there’s going to a shite ton of money and job opportunities to be made rebuilding these mansions

Someone on X mentioned the app Watch Duty. It’s very helpful for those like me who don’t know this area well. It shows up to date fire locations as well as evacuation areas.
There is also prescribed burn locations. I don’t know if there is history. There quite a few listed in Cali but I don’t see any in the LA area (not arguing policy just an observation).

I think it allows you to listen to their radio comms too. It was super helpful when we were almost evacuated for a fire a few months ago.

California stopped controlled burns around the 80s due to environmental concerns. Now every fire they have gets out of hand.
This is 100% false.
