Weathermen said we were going to get nasty weather all night long. Of course not a drop. Went to three different coffee shops this morning. All closed due to weather. No damn rain or wind. Thanks weatherman

I feel like the timing of this system is much slower than it was expected

Which is bad, because more of MS has time for diurnal heating and the clouds just to my east are clearing out and starting to see some sun

Are we not seeing as much discrete cell action on HRRR as we did in earlier runs?
Currently on 59 headed northeast from pearl river, LA, but I wonder if closer to 55 corridor will see the discrete cells

This is from the Storm Prediction Center. Look at that second paragraph. “Multiple EF3-EF4+ tornadoes likely.”

To get this thread back on track
Here's the latest from the SPC released an hour or so ago.
quote:

SUMMARY... A tornado outbreak is expected across the central Gulf Coast States and Deep South into the Tennessee Valley. Numerous significant tornadoes, some of which should be long-track and potentially violent, are expected this afternoon and evening. The most dangerous tornado threat should begin across eastern Louisiana and Mississippi during the late morning to afternoon, spread across Alabama late today into the evening, and reach western parts of the Florida Panhandle and Georgia tonight.

On a scale of 1-10, how worried should the outlying area of Nola be concerned about tornadoes today?

Sorry; I imagine this has been covered already

Almost all weathermen just say what the hrrr says and when hrrr is wrong they’re wrong.

Bigger problem to me is when the active situation on the ground is not reflected with warnings. Outbreaks overperform/underperform all the time and that’s nothing new.

Watching Ryan halls stream last night, there were a couple times rotation was obviously outside of the polygon because it wasn’t extended yet.

This is pretty bad at night because some people might be asleep and expecting their phone or weather radio to BZZZZZ. It makes me not want to sleep and just stare at a radar when there’s an outbreak.
