Bigger problem to me is when the active situation on the ground is not reflected with warnings. Outbreaks overperform/underperform all the time and that’s nothing new.

Biggest issue has always been NWS offices asleep at the wheel. Every cell was spinning and tor probable last night. Yet Little Rock was taking their sweet time.

Yea there were a couple cells that looked like they had stuff on the ground I saw that got warned late.

There needs to be better consistency from office to office.

The wind just completely died here to about 8 mph which is odd

Watching Ryan halls stream last night, there were a couple times rotation was obviously outside of the polygon because it wasn’t extended yet.

Depends on what you mean by "rotation"

Basically every cell was rotating last night in the macro sense. Whether that rotation translates to something happening on the ground or even close to it is another matter

I guess I'm skeptical bc I like Ryan Hall's feed but from what I've seen they have a penchant for trying to act like the weather service is missing things that are clear as day when in fact the weather service isn't missing anything so I'd be hesitant to just take their word for it

They’ll blame staffing but it comes down to shitty mets. Last night was busy but it wasn’t a difficult radar night. Cells were numerous but discreet and everything was spinning. It was some textbook tors and not difficult to decipher.

I know we don't know yet but did they miss any tornadoes or not? At the end of the day that's what matters right?

On a scale of 1-10, how worried should the outlying area of Nola be concerned about tornadoes today? Sorry; I imagine this has been covered already
just pay attention to radar/socials/TD and have a plan. Anything higher than 0 is a chance of tornadoes and worth having a plan. That being said the set up is definitely much more favorable than normal for active weather.

I mean actual observed tornados on the ground with debris signatures that were already warned, but moved outside of their existing polygon only to have the polygon extended a couple minutes later.

It happened a couple times but I can’t remember which ones because there were so many.

I don’t know how streamers like RH and MV do that and maintain some level of composure when they’re in the middle of explaining a warning and 3 new ones start blaring while they’re talking.

I’ve noticed a trend the past several years in not just meteorology but several sectors of the economy where the younger generation is incredibly incompetent at their job.

Just see the noticeable increase in airplane accidents, for example.

It concerns me for the future.

Been cloudy with a stubborn marine inversion in Biloxi all this morning.

Hopefully it stays that way

Weathermen said we were going to get nasty weather all night long. Of course not a drop. Went to three different coffee shops this morning. All closed due to weather. No damn rain or wind. Thanks weatherman
