Yeah, that part where it has a banked curve to the right used to flood once every year or two

So they are shutting down Hwy 12 West to Dewyville all the way back to the 171 overpass.

Check this out though...this fatass cop is sitting in his vehicle and making people park and walk to him to get permission to pass and get to their homes.

Talk about a clusterfrick and could speed up if he had the energy to actually stand up and do his fricking job.

I just went down Military by there and half of the road was under water. Still passable, but not by much.

My folks in QR said that it's going to keep rising into the night and likely until tomorrow morning.

Here's what it's done since yesterday morning...
Normal - The slab sits at 13.25"

1am Tues

9am Tues

The last flood a few years ago - The water reached the sidewalk that runs parallel to the street through the landscaping. This time - It's likely to be up to the front steps by sundown.

Yep. They will let you through if you aren't going all the way into Texas but it seems like that roadblock could be set up in DeQuincy or something instead of Ragley.

Isaac or Katrina? My parent's old house didn't get water for Isaac, but got 6ft for Katrina. Their house was built up 5ft off of the ground too

That's what I was thinking, there's no reason they couldn't do that on the outside edge of Dequincy.

I've been very confused by the I-10 closure today. At what time was it actually completely shut down to all traffic?

I'm asking because I want to know what the water level was at the time of the shutdown at Orange. At 10 AM, around the time every phone in Lousiana warned about the closure, it was a good bit under 6. Then, it was supposedly still open.

It's still gonna be above 6 Sunday night.

At what level and at what time was all traffic stopped?

The amount of conflicting information today about this is a conversation that should be had later. It has been beyond ridiculous.

Phones all over the state got a warning about the closure at 9AM and then state sourced Twitter feeds are saying it is still open an hour later.

Then it is closed.

Then it is open.

Then this lane is closed and the other is open.

It is 2016. This shite is not difficult. A 15 year old girl could relate better info on her Instagram account. Either there are vehicles crossing or they are not. Maybe big trucks are being allowed and not cars. This information is very easily distributed in real time from the location.

For Isaac. They got about 10" during Katrina...if which 3-4" stayed standing in the house for long enough to do a couple 6 figures worth of damage

FWIW - They think it has stopped rising over the last hour... Will take 2.or 3 days to go down based on previous events.

My boss drove from Mobile to BR today with no problems. Said the water was just a few feet away from I-10 near the LA/MS border, but the only delays were due to rubberneckers taking pictures on their phones :)

Here's our lakehouse on Caddo Lake at normal lake level. We normally drive under the house with plenty of room to spare.

Now here it is from Sunday:

Then yesterday.

Hoping this has finally crested.
