Due to the threat of severe weather and potential flooding throughout Southeast Louisiana over the next three days, classes are suspended beginning today at 1:30 p.m. through Saturday, March 12. Classes will resume on Monday, March 14. Non-essential staff are also released. If you do not know if you are considered essential, please check with your supervisor. Within the past few minutes, the Governor’s Office has announced the closure of all state government offices in 20 parishes throughout the state, including Orleans Parish. Please monitor www.uno.edu for updates and stay apprised of developments with the severe weather by following the local news media. Thank you for your cooperation and stay safe.
Just received this email from UNO

TWC radar keeps showing everything is going north of Nola and missing us.
Stop Using TWC and use NOAA BR/NO LIX

I would ask you to explain that like I'm five, but that still might be too complex. Can someone explain that like I'm OT stupid?
It's the probability of that reading compared to the average measured over time.
So 1 = 100% probability
.1 = 10% probability
10% is 10^-1
So 10^-23 is .(22 zeros)1
In other words, it's about as likely as me nailing two super models in the next ten minutes. (I'd be done in 3)

Yea, the trend on the HRRR & Experimental HRRR has been to stall that line before reaching New Orleans. Looks like less than an inch in NO with 8"+ NW of there. Once again, models continue to struggle with this setup. Best thing to do is watch the radar.
