Can someone let me know if it's possible to get from Bossier to Alexandria on I 49 south? I'm here for work and need to know of I should just stay another day
You need to see if Highway 1 is open south of Shreveport and what E-W roadway is open. You might could use Highway 84 from Highway 1 to I-49 if that is open. I'm guessing 1 is closed just north of Natchitoches and the Highway 6 bridge at Natchitoches is closed because a barge hit it. You could also come down 71 to Coushatta but I would wager Loggy Bayou has it flooded out.

Can you do me a favor, can you ask if I should cancel my trip to Nashville this weekend? Im supposed to fly out of NOLA tomorrow morning and returning Monday morning....im worried about 1. leaving my house in new orleans unattended 2. flights being cancelled 3.. getting stuck in Nashville
As far as the flights, I would not worry. Planes can fly in all types of weather and southwest is usually pretty good about not cancelling unless they have to. If there's tstorms that could cause some delays, but they'll get the plane there. The flight may also take a lot longer to avoid the storms. Some of the New Orleans to Houston flights today are averaging over 2 hours despite it usually taking 45 minutes

Jackson, MS needs to keep an eye on this system. A bow is starting to form on the leading edge which could lead to damaging straight line winds.

Lots of low places on La-1 and US-84...I would expect it to be closed.

If she is uptown there is a good chance the Streets will flood and inlaws would be boxed in.

Definitely a North LA thread going on if anyone had any doubts.

She should probably cancel the trip then.

That's true but I'm not sure what other options there are headed south. 171 was having issues yesterday and I guess that would be an option if it's open. He could try cutting back from Mansfield to I-49 as that was supposed to be open yesterday.

Damn, I know right where that is.
Hwy 6, main exit of Natchitoches past hotels/Wendy's.
