FAIRFORD, England, Sept 27 (Reuters) - British police arrested five men near a US air base on suspicion of explosive and terrorism offences on ?Sunday after a tip-off that three vans had been heading to the military airfield which has been used to strike Iran.
US President Donald Trump ?said the suspects had been looking to do "big damage" and had been under investigation by British and US authorities.
British counter terrorism detectives leading the investigation said police had received a call about three suspicious vehicles which appeared to be travelling towards RAF Fairford in the west of England in the early hours of Sunday.

The Gloucestershire police force said it responded in the early hours of Sunday to reports of three suspicious vehicles moving toward the base, and arrested five men “on suspicion of committing offenses under the Explosives Act.” They were later further arrested on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act.
Police did not provide further details on the men, who remain in custody, or what they were suspected to have done. “Work to establish the full nature of this incident is ongoing,” Assistant Chief Constable Richard Ocone said.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans of Counter Terrorism Policing said the force is “working closely with our partners to understand the circumstances of the incident,” with the investigation still in its “early stages.”
Ocone said 85 homes across the local area were evacuated and a 440-yard cordon put in place while an Army ordnance disposal team examines the vehicles.

My cousin has been on this base less than a week before this incident. He’s spent most of the past twenty years on bases in Japan and is already ready to get the f out of the UK.

I held a military & political website for years, I know what's going on and why but do you think we should foot the bill for capable countries such as England and especially Germany to infinity? England has abandoned their own navy and Europe won't secure their own borders.
Time for them to put their big boy pants on.
