Major City Dwellers: How will you spend your refund the police dividend?

In most major cities, the police budget is the single biggest line item, accounting for roughly 30% of the general fund expenditures.
The trend is to eliminate the police force, and replace it with something more efficient and community based. Counselors, organizers, midnight basketball coaches, etc.
So, assuming that results in a 50% cost reduction, major cities should expect to see a 15% reduction in their property taxes?
What will OT Ballers in these big cities do with the extra cash?

Savings will never be returned to taxpayers.
Most who clamor for this don't pay taxes in the first place.
They'll just waste savings on nonsense.
Meanwhile, productive folks will incur the cost of security, Increased insurance rates etc.

Sure. But certainly there will be big savings and efficiency gains over a corrupt, bloated, militaristic police force. I mean, a city spending $1 billion a year on cops can't spend more than $500 million a year on "community programs"?
Counselors are cheaper than cops.
Plus, we won't be spending millions to unjustly incarcerate people of color over minor offenses like assault, extortion, burglary, and drug dealing.

IIRC at the 1st Sunday evening protest in BR one of the people spoke asked that the money be given directly to those in certain neighborhoods as if someone was going to go door to door handing out cash

Investing in mental health services (between facilities and personnel) would actually benefit the police force. Instead of throwing these people in jail over and over again, case management and appropriate services (i.e. therapy, medication, drug counseling) would help cut some shite out.
Unfortunately its the first thing cut whenever social services are cut in local governments.

None of that money will go back to the taxpayers. In fact, property taxes are more likely to increase.

It’s absurd comedy that we’re going to defund police so that the city can have a Pronoun Counseling Department. And then expect that to alleviate crime.
