About 2-3 years ago. It's not bad yet, as they screen pretty heavily and have limited the number of accepted vouchers, but once a place goes section 8, it's only a matter of time.

there's also a massive section 8 apartment complex in walking distance. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see what will happen to a place like The Main Event when you have that kind of customer base next door.

People take the money that they save on rent to pay for more laser tag, making Main Event the greatest economic engine our town has ever seen?

Wasn’t Tinseltown a gangster haven when it was still open? I believe there was a shooting and then folk quit going and then it closed.

No, that's the MOL. The Rave closed briefly, but reopened after being sold to a different company.

Tinseltown closed because their parent company Cinemark made a deal with Spinosa that they would include a movie theater as part of the Perkins Rowe development, so when Perkins Rowe's theater opened, they closed Tinseltown.

Only on the OT and a few other select sites would such a topic turn into bashing of black people.

I don't see anyone complaining about white people. You do realize that whites are a minority in the City of Baton Rouge don't you??

You think kids are going to walk from 6630 Siegen to Main Event? That's about a 2 mile walk(according to Gmaps) so I don't think that will be an issue. Main Event won't be a cheap place to play and if loitering is handled properly, it should remain a decent place.

As for traffic woes, Pecue is getting an interchange within 3 years(turning dirt not completion). One can only hope that in addition to Reiger Road access to it, there will be access from N. Mall Drive as well. That would be WONDERFUL albeit optimistic.

eta: ah you mean Chateau Wein as the Section 8 within walking distance. It's not massive and That place isn't nearly as bad as it was 10 yrs ago.

You are trashy. People sit around and talk about folks like you, like you talk about minorities. The casty was for my comment going over your head, which I knew it would.

Why y'all gotta fight so much. This is going to be a cool place to have. Malco in Gonzales has remained a good place.

Why can't you frickin fricks be happy about something for once?
