another place to for parents throw bday parties for their kids? im down. or is this geared towards adults? either way im in favor for more things like this in BR

Main Event is a good concept largely ruined by birthday parties and people who like shiny things.
It has stuff for adults, but unlike Top Golf it is a zoo. I don't hate kids at all, but having 200 birthday parties a weekend will ensure a miserable time for everyone else and will bring in a lot of people who otherwise wouldn't spend the money.
As an aside, Painted Pin is a far better adult bowling concept (Atlanta only for now, but I imagine will be replicated/expanded in other cities if it isn't yet).

I went to one of these in Dallas and it was pretty awesome, but I don't see how this doesn't become a rundown shithole inside of 5 years with Baton Rouge's clientele.

AP already got their "Main Event" with the MALCO. Other than the laser tag, they don't have to leave Gonzales to go bowling.
There is some demand for a bowling alley on that side of town, so a good number of the South BR people will use it rather than brave Airline to go to Don Carters, Quarters, or Circle Bowl.
However, there's also a massive section 8 apartment complex in walking distance. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see what will happen to a place like The Main Event when you have that kind of customer base next door.

The advantage to places like Main Event is that your old arse Brunswick bowling alleys and the like become usable again.
