This place looks legit. It's bigger than Premier Lanes and it's certainly no Quarters.

New article 3/7/2016 Lease Signed

The Advocate Article

Main Event Website

quote:

Main Event centers range in size from 48,000 to 75,000 square feet and feature two restaurants: a casual dining area focusing on American food like hamburgers, ribs and steaks, and a standalone pizza café selling whole pies and individual slices. The centers also feature a full bar with beer, wine and liquor.
Along with the bowling alley, the centers feature multilevel laser tag, pool tables and an arcade. Some locations feature additional attractions such as indoor mini-golf, rock climbing and karaoke.

Excellent! I have played in one of the Houston locations. Very nice.
The sad part is this will probably kill Quarters though. I was initially excited when they opened but quickly underwhelmed.

motherfricking yeah!!!!!

Main Event is way better than Dave and Busters IMO.
I've been to 3 different ones in Texas and they are all awesome

ETA,That will be a bust and a mainly minority attended venue unless BR puts an off ramp and on ramp directly from the interstate, like what the MOLA has.

That would have been fun when I lived within walking distance.

Ours is huge. Bowling, great arcade, blacklight putt putt, billiards, laser tag, full bar, and shitty food.

There are always a shite ton of people there, but the building is so big it actually accommodates very well. However, it's not cheap.

Yea I just hope we get a full-blown version or they poll some locals for what we'd like here. For example, the "gravity ropes" would go very well here compared to a rock-climbing wall.

I see they have specials for kids during summers. Like $18 to play all they want after 4pm.

I hope it's NOT cheap. I want it to stay nice. This is where I grew up. Hell I fished in the ponds where that whole shopping center was built.

Me and ole Tate Suire used to ride the three wheelers back there and rabitt hunt and shoot pouldeau all the time back there.

Thread title somewhat misleading.

A request to rezone the site of the old Tinseltown movie theater to allow for Main Event, a family entertainment complex with a bowling alley, laser tag and restaurants, has been submitted to the city-parish Planning Commission.

like i said, without direct interstate access or at least a fast lane service road into and out of the complex,it will be a minority haven. For some reason blacks love places like that, concealed back in the back of an area with only one or two ways in and out.
Not being racist, just observant of the way things work around here.

exactly. The key is to keep trash, of all races, out or at least out for the most part.

Why? It's not like they'll get denied. They aren't trying to do it in a location like Trader Joes did near Southdowns or Walmart at college.

As for Interstate access, there is SUPPOSED to be a service road coming from siegen to Pecue with Pecue getting an intersection. That would address the issue that is Siegen clusterfrick south of 10. Now north of 10 is hopeless for 20 years unless they take people down reiger for same thing.

I actually played around on the mainevent website and thought hell this area would support one out there in Denham, too. Just not BR, AP, AND Denham.

Right. It's not too terrible there unless Holidays. But you can be backed up to the top of the overpass heading north sometimes.
North of 10 is real mess. Pecue intersection will hopefully help both sides.

I thought a Reiger Rd. extension was part of that widening/interstate interchange project for Pecue.
