If I remember correctly it's the mushrooms with a purple collar. In the 80's some friends and I picked some near Gonzalez (?).. I couldn't make it for the shroom party but they all got sick then tripped. One guy just barfed all over himself..

I don’t understand how humanity got so screwed up that we started using the threat of imprisonment to prevent each other from ingesting plants and fungi.
I say this as someone who’s very conservative on most issues, but seriously.

From the article— he showed up at the festival walking with a walker, not wheelchair bound. Nothing against shrooms/weed for recreational purposes or symptomatic treatment, but acting like mushrooms cured him is disingenuous at best, and dangerous at worst.
Article quote about paralyzed baw walking into festival with his walker prior to his miracle. Maybe y’all have a different definition of paralyzed?

He couldn’t drink alcohol, because it seemed to weaken his remaining nerve connections, and although he’d decorated his walker with LED lights in an attempt at festivity, it didn’t really work. “The disability made me feel like an outsider,” he says. Then someone offered him magic mushrooms,

you can grow them at your house very easily. but a mushroom growing kit that comes with everything but the spores.

then order spores. spores are legal to possess and sell as long as you don't inoculate them into growth medium. once you inoculate them, it is a felony, so i can't say that you should do this. the spores aren't for inoculating, they are for looking at.

60-100 grams dry weight, end product

Just be very, very careful picking mushrooms. The wrong ones will kill in a very painful manner.

Funny couldn't get the link markup to work.
quote:
There are some mushrooms that are super rare and extremely poisonous and there are others that are mildly toxic but responsible for the most hospital admissions from poisoning. So which is the most poisonous? Overall, there are 70-80 species of poisonous mushroom, which cause around 7428 death/per year in the US; in this article, we will look at the top 10 most commonly misidentified ones so you can steer clear. To start, heed the warning of this ominous quote:
"Only a few mushrooms will kill you; most will just make you wish you were dead."
This relates to the fact that poisoning from mushrooms doesn't kill the ingester immediately, sometimes it can be a gruesome, slow painful death...

That is not a small number.

Part of the Judeo-Christian orthodoxy is that no one can have fun without bad consequences. If nature doesn’t provide them, their laws impose them.

Maybe that’s part of it, but lots of Christian cultures drink and atheistic authoritarian regimes have draconian drug laws too, so I don’t think we can blame it all on religion.

Our federal government has tried to eradicate one of the most useful plants on earth.
If you are an actual conservative you should have this stance.

A former roommate of mine moved up to auburn, ended up in Waverly... renting a house on 7-8 acres, that was part of an 8000 acre tree/cow farm. Dude showed up in Florida with pounds to unload, out of the blue

I remember a friend of mine when at Auburn calling me from a party after she had gotten into some shrooms.
She laughed for maybe 10-15 minutes straight and then begged me to help her "stop thinking...ABOUT THINKING!"

Asceticism, and its a great strategy for some, not so much for others.
