Wisconsin students demand free tuition for black students

quote:

Black students should be offered free tuition and housing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison because blacks were legally barred from education during slavery and UW-Madison remains out of reach for black students today, the student government said Wednesday.

Why don't some of these students demanding free tuition for the black students just pay their tuition for them?

Student government is disproportionately represented by try hard SJW's, including people who may benefit from this resolution

The Associated Students of Madison said in a resolution that students from suburban high schools are overrepresented and that the consideration of ACT and SAT scores in applications restricts opportunities for the poor and thus upholds "white supremacy.

Lol. These clowns have no idea what they're saying.

"We shouldn't be focused on improving education for young black students so that they can meet UW's standards. We should be focused on lowering UW's standards so those stupid black students have a fair shot as us smarter white students!"

"Becoming"?

In the 60s Madison and Berkeley were damn near identical twins in the leftist movement. Back then the Mayor of Madison said it was "30 square miles surrounded by reality". To say the city and students are idealists is a bit of an understatement.

That being said, I grew up conservative, and it was a shock to the system, but the university, city, and overall experience are second to none. Effing love Madtown.

And hell, if they think it should be free for blacks, I'm fine with that. Just total up how much it costs for all of them to go for free, and then tell the other students how much their tuition is going up because of it. I feel like they'd be a bit less idealistic if their tuition goes up a couple grand a year.

Well this is pretty racist.

Telling black folks that you can't go there unless we give it to you for free. You can't earn it.

The casual racism of low expectations.

More importantly, is Wisconsin really considered part of the "Midwest"?

I'd have to just go with the more simple "North".

As I was saying, nothing new.

quote:

The three most radicalized university campuses during the late 1960s were Columbia University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the University of California at Berkeley.

During the summer of 1970, however, a momentous, tragic event happened. Four ultra-lefts, who called themselves “The New Years Gang,” placed a van loaded with explosives next to Sterling Hall, the UW physics building, and blew it up, killing a researcher inside the building. They had intended to blow up the U.S. Army Mathematics Research Center located adjacent to Sterling Hall. The blowing up of Sterling Hall cast a pall over the entire radical movement in Madison from which, arguably, it never fully recovered.

they wouldn't care, because parents are paying for most of their tuition.

Tha frick?

Political Correctness was BORN at UW-Madison in the 1980s under the supervision of hardline, Peace Corps Marxist, Donna Edna Shalala.

That's where origins of current university speech codes and all the university madness about trigger warnings, safe spaces, rape culture, white privilege, etc., can be traced.
