They say just wearing an entirely different style of clothes would make even close friends not immediately recognize you.

The CEO sounds like a really upstanding person: quote:In May, the Hollywood Firefighters’ Pension Fund had filed a lawsuit against Thompson, alleging he had sold over $15 million of UnitedHealth stock despite being aware of an active Justice Department antitrust investigation into the health insurance company that he did not disclose to investors or the public. Though UnitedHealth, the lawsuit alleges, was aware of the Justice Department investigation since at least October 2023, the public would only learn of the case when the Wall Street Journal published a story about it on February 27, 2024. When news of the investigation broke, it erased almost $25 billion in shareholder value. But by that time, Thompson had already cashed out, selling over $15 million in personally held UnitedHealth shares, per the suit. If true, the account affirms the countless internet memes’ depiction of Thompson as a rapacious health insurance executive fat cat. Literally none of the news media coverage I’ve seen about the murder has included this context, instead tugging at heart strings about the two sons he’ll be leaving behind. Members of Congress have likewise issued anguished statements about the tragic loss of life, remarks that decline to mention the allegations against him or the vast sums of money the company he oversaw has contributed to them and other politicians. What a turd.

This is meaningless without knowing more details. If he has a billion in stock and routinely sells $15m a quarter would the above matter at all? Just because a lawsuit alledges reasons for something doesn’t mean it has any legitimacy. I could sue you for having sex with a monkey but it doesn’t make any of it true.

The facial recognition software at the TSA would concern me quite honestly since I don’t know what they’re fully capable of. Doing that five years ago, yeah, but I think I’d rather fly from a foreign airport before trusting that.

You think they sent the facial recognition data over to TSA within 2 hours of the murder?

Wonder why they aren't fighting to the death (figuratively speaking) to keep this guy's manifesto from being released/published?

The parents of the victim aren’t asking them to.

He made comments in court during arraignment in Penn that he didn’t have the money or bag on him, that it was planted.

The cops need to make a statement even if it is the wrong guy

Yeah it was a very weird scene. He had no problem with any of the accusations but pointed out that the $8000 in cash and $2000 in foreign money wasn't his, and that his backpack was not only a Faraday cage, but waterproof

I’m always going to be skeptical about things like this.

Oh I thought I read he denied having the bag. I guess I read it wrong or it was a bad report. Well shite if he’s not denying the bag which had the gun it then it ain’t good for him. But why plant the money if they have the weapon?

It could be bad reporting, but CNN seemed to imply that the planting of the money and the bag were two separate statements:

"And then he also said, 'That bag was waterproof.'"

I had a friend in college that was arrested in college for a crime he didn’t commit. His picture and name made headline news. A few weeks later they caught the perp because he turned himself in. But they ruined him. The cops made things up about him for evidence to build a case against him lol. Shits fricked up

I feel like this could've been planned so much better assuming he didn't actually want to get caught. He murdered the guy in NYC ffs... he could've had an airline ticket and flight to God know's where lined up and been off the radar like that. Non extradition country, golden... no?

I don’t think he planned to return to a normal life after this. He probably realized in would only be a matter of time before he was caught.
