so he really didnt have a beef with the CEO, just the state of Healthcare in general.

Bizarre way to deal with it.

Still he couldn’t buy a plane ticket in advance two hours before the shooting. There could have been a large crowd in front of the hotel that morning when he happened to walk by and he’d refuse to shoot an innocent.

Again, he was waiting out for hours. Probably days. You are assuming he knew exactly when and where to do this.

Why would you take a plane right after something like this? If he wanted to fly away, he should have shot him in private. Then fly away before anyone knew the guy was dead.

Again, he was a lunatic going through what appears to be major mental health issues. Just because he is high IQ does not mean he thought everything through.

I think he wanted to be some sort of Martyr. As others said, I'm not so sure he didn't have other targets in mind for the short term future.

And it sounds like he was mad because his back couldn't be fixed

Shitty United Health Care or not, there is often not a miracle available for his messed up back

Was the McDonald’s employee just an ultimate Karen that called the cops on everyone and everything? My god, no way that guy would’ve stood out to me as the possible shooter

Spiraled into depression. Maybe he was unhappy with how his health insurance was treating him without compassion during a difficult time.

He didn’t go after the surgeon.

You need to be driving home the fact that we know this patsy's entire life story less than 24 hours after he was apprehended, but we don't know a damn thing about the piece of shite who attempted to assassinate a former and future president months ago.

I think they tracked him using technology they won't tell us about and told the McDonald's worker "Here's the reward money, say you recognized him and sign this NDA, if you talk it will be bad for you :winkwink:)

They tracked him to McDonalds, couldn't let him get on the move again, so they had to go take him. Then did the clean up after.

Also, people are really thinking just because he is very intelligent that he would be better at getting away with this. He was intelligent, but he clearly had a psychotic break and wasn't of sound mind anymore. A lot of brilliant people lose their minds.

I think these hourly workers knew about the reward and were constantly on the lookout. I don't buy that they were part of any conspiracy.

I do want to know how they were able to track him to a bus station in upper Manhattan right after the killing and then lost him for 5 days.

Exactly. Maybe this is the guy. Maybe it isn’t.

That said, people that shoot a guy publicly in Manhattan are crazy. He can be super smart, but still crazy. See the references to the Unabomber.

Depends on the number of out of state busses he could have hopped on. Were there at least 10-20 options?

They didn’t have cameras to see which bus he got on.

Edit…and he had a several hour head start. They didn’t know about the bus station until several hours later. Takes time to sift through video surveillance, find the taxi, and come to that conclusion.
