Can we impeach him?
Posted on 7/21/25 at 2:30 pm to ragincajun03
They’re too busy working on creating new schedule 1 drugs to ban to support the alcohol industry to worry about the coast.

The reason he was so against it is because he couldn't profit off of it. Him nor any of his podna's!
I'm surprised Gordy Dove was on board with shooting this down also especially with GIS Engineering and Sea Level Construction in his back pocket.

The Miss River is actually one of the least polluted waterways in LA

Torches and pitchforks boys? They'll keep doing it as long as they're getting away with it. They had an invention in France a while back that sends a pretty clear message when taxpayers finally have enough

I doubt Nungesser has even read this letter let alone wrote it.

The more times I read that, the harder it is to believe that the state of Louisiana second in command wrote that.
Even he is right about the projects effectiveness(I don't think he is), what a fricking embarrassment of a statement. I'm supposed to feel bad about the project because of some cock sucking dolphins? A couple of roadside towns in Plaquemines parish that might have a hard time? Some mythical fragile Avatar forest that might be damaged from polluted river water?
This dude can suck a fat bag of dicks.

Somehow that would be even worse.
What an a-hole.

Let’s be clear: this project proposes to dump polluted river water into a delicate estuary system that simply cannot handle it.
Now do Neptune and Mardi Gras Passes.

Show me where the upper Gulf has semi-diurnal tides of 10 to 15 feet, Mr chief expert physical oceanographer. I'll hang up and listen. Dumbass can't even get basic facts straight.
Has anyone said he's the worst / best example of slimy, greedy no good bastard Louisiana politician? Not wealthy enough yet, Billy?
Laughable and regrettable he and Landry have so little regard for the future of our State. I think the Feds will become tired of bailing us out, Katrina their caused exception.

I won't pretend to understand every detail of this project, but when your first talking point is "save the dolphins" I'm gonna be a little skeptical of your position

It’s too far for them to swim, bruh.
We’d have to move them ourselves and that costs money too.

He's aligned with Landry for political gains
the illegal fisherman have won
I guess that's the end of all the River Modeling buildings at the foot of Miss River bridge in Baton Rouge, they can all kiss their jobs goodbye

Its cancellation means Louisiana could miss out on more than $1.5 billion and may have to repay the $618 million already spent on the effort.
$600+ million down the drain

Former Republican Rep. Garret Graves, who previously served as the head of the state’s coastal restoration agency, called cancelling the project a “boneheaded decision” that failed to take into account years of studies.
“It is going to result in one of the largest setbacks for our coast and the protection of our communities in decades,” Graves said. “I don’t know what chiropractor or palm reader they got advice from on this, but baffling that someone thought it was a good idea.”
Supporters of the restoration project emphasized that the effort was rooted in research and would have protected the coastline from the worst impacts of erosion in a state where a football field of land is reportedly lost every 100 minutes, and more than 2,000 square miles has been lost over the last 100 years, as noted by the U.S. Geological Survey.
The project that began in 2023 aimed to reroute sediment-filled water from the Mississippi River to rebuild wetlands eroding because of rising sea levels from climate change, as well as an expansive river levee network that deprived the area of natural land revitalization from silt deposits.

This guy is horrible. He’s disgusting and I don’t want to hear his name any further. Such a waste he is in this position. Kip would have been a breath of fresh air next to this idiot.
I bet they put this out because they know everyone is PISSED OFF at them. Then they poured fuel on the fire coming up with this lying filled letter.

Old old tymers claim Galveston once had blue water
every now and then, it happens when a hurricane hits Louisiana
always wondered if massive coastal restoration would bring that back. It won't ever happen

I wish the Feds would tell this state no more federal aid of any sort till you get your coastal restoration shite together. Its a perpetual cycle of crises followed by pissing away money for studies and plans only to have whatever solutions result from those plans and studies to be summarily cancelled. This state games the federal government better than California. Feds should tell La. no more money for anything weather related.

Seems like Garrett Graves was right about these two (Landry and Nungesser). We should have all listened and not just thought he was making a political stance.

My home state is the one area where I would welcome federal overreach. It goes against everything I believe but this state is far to corrupt and stupid to govern itself effectively.
